Now I reach, now I wait—ain’t much left to say

Traded wishes, traded weight, dared the years to lie
But silence came in whispers, settled deep in our home
Now I sit across from you—but somehow feel alone
Where did we go?

Did the world pull the thread

Now it’s quiet,...quiet.... heads held low

Used to hear laughter in the way you’d turn a phrase
Used to let the echoes fill the empty space

But the words aren’t reaching—just ghosts in the rhyme
The letters stopped coming, stopped feeling right
The touch of a hand lost the pull in the fight
