The middle 18 pages of Antisonata for piano by Ben Harper, 2005-2013. Antisonata plays all of Domenico Scarlatti’s 555 keyboard sonatas simultaneously, but very, very slowly; so slowly that a complete performance takes as long as it would to play them consecutively (about 18 hours). To complicate matters, the pitch range of the source material has been extended to match the range of a modern piano, and new chords have been added throughout. The placement of chords and octave transpositions were determined by chance, according to independently variable probabilities

Another piece based on the top melodic line of Arnold Schoenberg’s Three Pieces for Piano, Op.11.   Each pitch class is replaced by a short sound sample, selected using the random function on the Freesound website.  Dynamics, amplitudes, and rhythmic durations are equal throughout.

Piano Sonata No. 1 (Toccata Furioso) - excerpt

Another piece based on the top melodic line of Arnold Schoenberg’s Three Pieces for Piano, Op.11.  Each pitch class repeats the same register and duration with which it first appeared in Schoenberg's original. Each pitch can only fall upon a given beat in each bar.

Divination of the Gaudy Mary of Brunswick East via the rooftop of Piedimonte's

Redundens 5b plays the sequence of pitch-classes from Redundens 1 with durations and rhythms removed, within the space of a common octave. Played on pipe organ with each note played on a single stop, which changes at random with each successive note, from a prescribed list of sixteen stops. All stops play within the same register.

Always wanted to write a serial composition. The twelve notes in the scale bunched up a little to allow an extra note to slip into the octave. It's probably nothing.

German For Bad Luck (excerpt)

"This Is All I Need" was composed specifically for cochlear implant wearers. The notes are retuned to work with the frequency bandwidths of the implants, and the melodic patterns are keyed to short phrases of speech, which are more easily recognised.
