PREMIERE: Bass Toast - Obnoxious Groove (Dream Mix) [Happiness Therapy]

February 10th 2023 is the release date of the new EP by Tamati and Paul Bart, called ‘Boogie Me’. The promising duo who are definitely starting their adventure with the right attitude, enters the Apparel Family with a brilliant debut record, which represents the thirty-third release of the now consolidated APDEXTRA. The three tracks featured in ‘Boogie Me’ are three portraits of the artist’s musical talent and bring with them a fresh energy that only a new musical project can have. The first, and title track, is a rhythmic explosion with hints of Acid while the second and third are personal versions of the two artists of the track ‘Still Life’, which the pair personally decline in their own way. The structure of the EP is designed to give the listener all the tools to understand the musical characteristics of the two producer but, even without knowing the title of the tracks or having information on the tracklist, the record is highly enjoyable. The result is a danceable, fresh and carefree EP, perfect for starting the new year on the front foot.

Earlier in 2024, Foliage Records welcomed the esteemed Ralf GUM for a debut release, a collaboration with US Soulstress Monica Blaire. The result was the mesmerizing track "AWA" a song crafted over the span of three years. Today, we are thrilled to unveil the first remix of "AWA" brought to life by the soulful artistry of our dear friend, Atjazz.

Ralf GUM has always remained true to his musical vision and feeling. Instead of adapting he chose to rather develop and grow. With an impressive catalogue of top quality tunes, he has become a legendary figure in House Music, but never rests on his laurels, as he continues to redefine his sound and the genre with exquisite releases and collaborations. "AWA" is yet another stunning addition to his repertoire, taking listeners on an immersive sonic journey that engages all the senses.

Detroit singer, songwriter, and MC Monica Blaire is truly a unique alternative soulstress. Extremely versatile and very talented, her passion for music has led to amazing collaborations with artists such as R&B singers Dwele & Vanessa Williams, Denuan Porter from D12, Wajeed from the Platinum Pied Pipers and most recently a wonderful solo album released on Mahogoni Music produced by label owner and legend Moodymann.

From his early days skateboarding through the small towns of Northeast England to managing a successful independent record label, Martin "Atjazz" Iveson has journeyed through producing and remixing for a diverse range of global talent. He has become synonymous with top-tier style, production, and innovation in the independent music scene.

Fans recognize that the Atjazz sound is profoundly personal, with each track he produces or remixes reflecting a piece of himself.

More of a cultural artifact than an album in the traditional sense, Osunlade’s ‘Pyrography’ first materialised in 2011, intended to mark the closing chapter in his House music journey, the start of a new creative phase. Titled after the ancient artistic practice of burning an image onto a surface, everything about ‘Pyrography’ implied both ritual and permanence. A few signed, ultra-limited edition CD copies of the album were accompanied by a specially commissioned art book, with original works by highly regarded Australian artist Scott Marr and a series of ‘oriki’ prayers appearing in print for the first time ever.

In 2017, BBE are proud to team up with the mercurial DJ, producer and ordained Yoruba priest Osunlade to make this incredible work of art available on vinyl for the first time. Two heavyweight 12” records nestle in the front and back covers of a lovingly printed book containing a brief history of the Yoruba culture, Scott Marr’s evocative images and those all-important traditional oriki prayers by Maria Oggun Bemi. Placed at the meeting point of art, culture, history, music and spirituality, Pyrography simply cannot be described or compared, much like the ritual Anagó language the project celebrates.
