A lazy Sunday afternoon in the studio today lead me to do a DVS NME version of my favorite Drexciya song of all time! I had just finished listening to 'The Quest' over breakfast and so it was really fresh in my mind. So when I stepped in front of the Arp Odyssey, I ended up making the bass sound that drives my version of the track. This song has always perfectly encapsulated what James and Donald's music means to me. So mysterious, funky, soulful, catchy, intriguing, and just so goddamn good. I didn't love everything they ever did but this song is just one of those tracks that reminds me why I love Electro music. It ranks, in my mind, as just important as Kraftwerk's 'Numbers' or Afrika Bambaataa's 'Planet Rock'. Absolutely timeless music that makes me feel inspired. All that having been said, I chose not to change the song much from the original structure because of how much simply adore it. This is my version of Drexciya's 'Dehydration'. Stay deep, stay pressurized.

On 26 February, hundreds of Israeli settlers went on a violent late-night rampage in Huwara and other villages in the northern West Bank, leaving one local resident dead and 100 others injured and the town ablaze.

This compilation of music was put together in order to raise funds that can hopefully give some aid to the residents of Huwara, all of the proceeds Confused Machines make from digital sales will go directly to Physicians For Human Rights – Israel (PHRI) www.phr.org.il An NGO that works in the occupied Palestinian territory, promoting Palestinians' right to health and providing direct medical and humanitarian assistance.

The compilation hosts a roster of both local and international artists spanning a wide spectrum of leftfield electronic music. Acid, Drone, Noise, Downtempo, Techno, SoundCollage and more.
All of these tracks are new and have not been heard before, many of them have been created with Huwara and Palestine in mind.

Though we know our reach is limited, we see this as a part of a bigger political effort to help raise awareness in our artistic circles and set motion to positive forces in dark times.

'Jesus Is Watching' is Fonome's latest release, coming out in July on his own FONOS.

Fonome, formerly part of Seville’s legendary Union Records, is a well known figure of the Spanish underground scene, mixing a blend of Techno, Electro and darker sounds in his productions. With his latest release, JESUS IS WATCHING, Alfonso uses music to talk about humanity's duality: do we believe in the almighty gods and own the knowledge of truth, or do we believe in aliens and watch a lot of 90's movies and are therefore influenced by this imaginary?

The whole album is a mix of ambient, Electronica, Techno, Electro that conceptually are expressing Fonome's anger, doubts, thoughts. For example, Charlatan (the album's first single), is an attack to failed politicians and their actions. In the tracks you can hear samples of different speeches used to show the negative impact these are having on our society. 

The LP is a solid collection of tracks inspired not only by the philosophy behind the various concepts but also by Fonome's life working in the port amongst machineries, industrial equipment etc, that clearly are having an impact on the sound palette Alfonso has used whilst producing the tracks.

'Jesus Is Watching' comes out on July on FONOS. Keep an eye on the singles.

Exactly one year after my 2022 release entitled 'Agitation Propaganda', I return with a collection of new tracks that were produced between the middle of 2022 and early 2023. This 20-track album, as the title suggests, is a tribute to the love affair that I have with making music. In 2023 I celebrate my 40th birthday so I thought it was good timing to release a concept album that pays homage to the one true love that I've ever known- Synthesis ♥️

This album, as with the last, relies heavily on the sounds of classic synthesizers/drum machines like Mono/Poly, MS-20, SH-101, Jupiter-8, Juno-106, SH-2, JX-8P, System 100, Juno 60, JX-3P, TB-303, Polysix, TR-606, OB-8, TR-808, ARP Odyssey, as well as some contemporary additions to my studio like Hydrasynth, System 8, MC-707, MicroFreak, Prophet Rev2, Novation Peak, Minilogue, SE-02, and Microkorg.

The artwork for the album was done by the brilliant artist Kelly Gilleran, who also just so happens to be my long-term girlfriend. She is a pattern designer, painter, and illustrator. Her work can be found here: www.kellygilleran.redbubble.com/
