Meanwhile the junk has left the harbour ready to carry dangerous goods across the ocean. Look over there – it’s the marine police. Can you hear the horns blow in Pacific Times? It’s damn hot in the streets of Beirut. But the bazar gives good cover to those who are on the run. Peeking around corners, hiding in the sandy breezes until the dark night falls. So finally one can indulge in the more lustrous activities of life… There the glamour and dispersal awaits the ones who can afford it. Take a risk – no way we gonna hollahback. 

Samo DJ, Baba Stiltz and Tzusing came together to form this four track EP that invites you to let your mind wander to foreign territories. Take the ride and find yourself in exotic places far from here and now… but still so close.

Will & Ink’s latest is a remix EP that finds Bambounou and Simo Cell team up for four reworked versions of Yaleesa Halls Woodall LP. Bambounou is a Paris-based hybrid techno and house producer who has long been close to the 50 Weapons label, and Simo Cell is an experimental artist whose music finds a home on labels like Livity Sound and Wisdom Teeth. 

Up first, Bambounou goes in and turns ‘Woodall 0217’ into a menacing, stripped back track with a soft flurry of toms and freaky sine waves all underpinned by lurching, subliminal bass. Simo Cell then steps up for a version of '0224' that is much more dubbed out and for the club. It breezes along on a swaying groove with hi fidelity sound designs colouring the airwaves as the drums scurry down low. Then the pair link up for their Trance-Attitude-Mix of 'Woodall 0406'. Again the drums are weightless down below as they turn in big, sweeping loops and the slivers of silvery synth really electrify the whole thing as they flash about like fireflies. Finally, they remix the same track again but remove the drums, instead making it a paranoid and dark, spares and suggestive minimal number that is wholly from the future. These two have a very specific sound and one that sounds like little else, a solid match with Yaleesa Hall and the Will & Ink imprint, as this EP proves.

The "No Other Way EP" is one wild ride from start to finish. It's probably Ternion's heaviest outing to date. While already gained the support of Caspa, J:Kenzo and others, when you listen you'll know why.

Starting off with the title track "No Other Way".  The intro's bass guitar slaps away at you while giving you that gritty downtown kind of feeling. Just before everything turns black & white the guys go in with a bass line that is both relentless and intense which had us from the moment we heard it. But that's not enough for the Ternion men. They just keep cranking the juice on this one giving it almost beastial characteristics as the track progresses.
"Dovetail" is a different kind of cookie though. With this track Ternion reminds us why we fell in love with Dubstep in the first place. The magic of a well worked out wobbler is lovely when done correctly and Dovetail delivers on all fronts. It's militant and angry while it keeps it groovy, fun and bouncy. We know it's not much of description to go on but those are words that come to mind when one plays this track.
Guarding the rear is "Jammer". A gnarly sounding stomper that's bursting with energy. It starts of light and sweet but as soon as you near the drop you can tell it's going to show you a darker side. It then skips of snarling and growling away and showing you why it earned the title Jammer.

This is all wrapped in a black & white sleeve with artwork made by the sick Karimooo and pressed on 180g solid white vinyl with black inner sleeve making this our second vinyl release!

This release will be available on the 20th of september at the first Next Level Label Night @ Perron, Rotterdam.

Photay and Sam O.B. collide once again for the second of two EPs this year under the moniker Ensemble Entendu. Pastoral Dusk Themes EP evokes images deep and rolling. Lead off ‘Hully Bully’ portrays a nighttime landscape turned into electric jelly jiggling to the beat of forlorn drums. Ensemble Entendu’s take on library music here expands to include the stoic cumbia inflections of ‘Ritmo Antiguo’ and the fourth world ambient reflections of ‘Loon Interlude’ and ‘Mascoma.’ Each track brings a palpable imagined geography, a space within which to think and feel emergent states of departure. ‘Lakeview’ finishes the release with a colorful, astral spaciousness, something like aurora borealis converted into synthesized sound.

Ensemble Entendu began as a collaborative project of Photay and Sam O.B. They set out exploring library music and the tradition of rhythm tracks, emphasizing driving drums and basslines in their stripped down productions. The Brooklyn-based producers are now shaping a music uniquely situated between their already unique solo artistic voices.
