"Naviganti inesperti" siamo tutti, dentro un viaggio senza una meta precisa, alla ricerca di un "trisoru ca nun c'è e nun c'ha statu mai". L'unica realtà certa è che "C'è 'u mari", l'ambiente in cui il destino si manifesta con tutta la sua imprevedibilità. 
Se arriva la tempesta, non chiede certo il permesso. È il dolore, la difficoltà, che "turmenta nzinu a quannu scampa": si spera che finisca presto, ma poi si prova nostalgia e si arriva a pregarla di tornare.  Di fronte al "misteru fatto d'onde", siamo "raminghi", eterni erranti in questo grande mare.  "Semu remi spezzati, vele scusuti": siamo fragili e rotti dalle intemperie della vita. La salvezza non arriva dalla lotta, ma dai silenzi, che diventano un rifugio per guarire e, soprattutto, per imparare. "Picciliddra goccia, stilla d'amuri": in mezzo all'infinità del mare, la vera salvezza non è il tesoro, ma una cosa piccola e luminosa, una goccia d'amore che "surridi d'intra l'infinitu".
