Amanda - Herman Winther-Henriksen

This is a short song that I wrote in 2012, and then extended a little bit last year. It stands out to me as important as it's the first introspective song I've ever written... I've broken from my usual character driven song writing style and spoken about what I, Otis, actually feel, which is something I still find extremely difficult today. It's also very personal in that it addresses a man, clearly. I've encountered far too many gay artists/singers who are very happy to confront their sexuality in interviews and media personas but who seem to not be able to include it in their lyrics, or keep a purposeful ambiguity behind it, and I haven't done that, I want to confront it head on. I want to sing about unrequited love with another boy because I'm gay and very fucking proud of it.

Useful creative tool but god it's not good for the soul - anyway, this doesn't make much sense but it's definitely the beginnings of something.
