I see it in your eyes before you speak,
Your mouth moves fast, your patience weak.
You mumble words and turn away,
Then act surprised I missed what you say.

You ask me “what’s wrong?” like I’m to blame,
Then glance at the clock, forget my name.
I ask again, just once—no crime,
You sigh and snap, “Forget it. Never mind.”

“Never mind,” like it costs too much breath,
Like my questions are dragging you to death.
You say you’re listening, but you never stay—
You’re already walking the other way.

You heard my voice, not the silence inside,
You nod like you know me—then say, “never mind.”
I asked for access, not your grace,
But you treat my deafness like a disgrace.

I don’t need your ears if they’re closed that tight,
I needed equity, not a fight.
Heard, but not listened to—
You’d rather talk than learn what’s true.

You speak too fast, you turn your head,

I asked you slow, just once again,
You rolled your eyes like I offend.
