Random Battle Encounter! The bread and butter of any JRPG is its battle system, and a solid battle theme is crucial to keep your spirits up between all those menus and debuffs.
This is a short excerpt of one such track, speed-written and arranged in two hours on November 17th for day 4 of #7DaysofVGM November 2020 (theme: JRPGs)

In the Thicket at Daybreak is an entertaining piece about the little creatures that wake up as daylight shines over a small forest. The creatures range in size and temperament from small and feisty to large and lazy and everything in-between.

The piece is intermediate difficulty and is good for ensembles at the university level and higher. There are no extended techniques. It’s possible to play this piece as a string quintet instead of for orchestra but some of the divisi may take some time to sort out.
