Biography:

There’s a lot you can say about a DJ but the best thing for a DJ to say is nothing. Just play the records, mate. Which is what Benwah has been doing for over two decades. A DJ that prefers to let his music speak for him, Ben focuses on getting on with the job. He reads a room, sizes up the sensibility, then leads everyone on a musical journey that leaves them happy and enlightened. Not content to simply bang out the hits, he draws on his extensive knowledge and experience to unearth old and new classics to keep the audience on their toes. He’s honed his skills with an impressive resumé of gigs throughout the world, including numerous local club and bar residences. His style is difficult to pin down, a fitting testament to his willingness to explore different music and scenes. Suffice to say he knows a good track when he hears it and the right time it should be played.

Born in Honduras, and raised in Providence, Rhode Island DJ Rebel started djing in the early '90s. He was known for bringing his crowd through a journey of banging beats that kept the crowd dancing all night. Blending a variety of house, disco, hard house, tribal, and techno Rebel was soon being booked for local legendary clubs like The Living Room, Pulse, Asylum, and New England's favorite after-hours club, club Therapy. 

After taking a break Rebel returned to the tables. This time channeling his Honduran roots into producing his own sounds filled with more tribal house stacked with deep layers of drums reminiscent of the drum circles back home. Adding to his unique style he also brings in Latin house elements. 

The blend results in a refreshingly tropical vibe, while maintaining a deep rhythmic soul reminiscent of a set you would find beachside or on a balmy roof deck somewhere hot.

Thankfully no passport is required to be transported! Just push play and clear the floor. Because one thing that has remained constant over all his years behind the turntables is his ability to get you up on your feet, dancing till the sun comes up!

DECADES of professional nightclub DJ skills, and began my practicing in the very early 1990's.
When I was 18 years old I used to sneak away from home to go to NYC to hear Junior Vasquez at  the original Sound Factory and then found my way to the Limelight.
In my quest for obtaining the most illusive and private remixes of my idols I because friends with some of the most influential DJs in the NYC dance music scene. 
Spending many evenings in the studio with DJ Eddie Baez and becoming friends with other DJs like Razor N Guido, Chad Jack, DJ Escape, & Peter Rauhofer.

After years of just being a music lover and collector I decided to make the progression to Disc Jockey. After-all, I was entrusted with a wealth of rare and unreleased music, it should be played.

In Philadelphia I had already been closely tied to the nightclub community. DJs like Robbie Tronco, Michael DeCero, and Rob Lee were already among my close circle of friends.
So I was already doing a good job bridging the gap of transporting music between NYC and Philly.

I have played at almost every major dance venue in the Philadelphia region, and started to make a name for myself in other cities around the country.
I was embraced by the Bear & Leather community and quickly found myself playing at almost every major Bear or leather event around the country.

By why stop their. I have a Passport, a reputation and am well networked.
My global career started in the most unusual of places, Reykjavík Iceland where I have been asked to return year after year.
I then started to branch out into Europe playing London many times. North of my home into Canada welcomed me with welcome arms, where I am a frequently requested favorite in Vancouver!
After crossing the Atlantic Ocean, I decided to cross the Pacific Ocean into Japan. Tokyo praised me, and continues to bring me back.
North America, Europe, Asia, where next?? The Southern Hemisphere of course!
Sydney Australia has asked me to provide music during their two week celebration of Sydney's Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras year after year since 2010.
This event is known the largest gay pride celebration on the planet!

I still am all about the music, the party, and the vibe, so its not unusual for me to play to a crowd of thousands at a major circuit party one week, then to a crowd of a dozen at a private birthday party or maybe a hundred at a bear run or Leather bar.
If my music, talent, and skills are appreciated I'm happy to entertain.
