Tanya Lea / Silky Howard- Vocalist, Musician, Song Writer, Actress, Promoter 
A native Washingtonian, Tanya “Silky” Howard,  majored in Broadcasting & Public Relations while honing her skills in music by taking opera classes at Howard University every chance she got.  She comes from a musical family. Her mother was a well known singer in VA before coming back to the DC area. And recording artist Sarah Vaughn is a distant cousin. Other well known performing  musical family members are Precious Joubert, Ian T. Broxton, and Brad “Dip” Chambers.   
 Tanya Lea became “Silky” while touring the east coast with various college bands when audiences would routinely yell out, “Go Silky Soul Sister”. She plays the piano and the guitar.  She worked at Channel 4 and Channel 9 TV in writing and production.  She also formerly hosted her own late night Smooth & Sassy Jazz  / R&B radio program on WHUR Radio 96.3 FM from Midnight to 6am on weekends.  At that time her “On Air” name was “Tanya Lea”. 
 In the late 90’s  Silky joined forces with Janiese to form the singing group, then  known in the metro area as, “Just US 2”.  The girls have been seen wowing a crowd or two in many local area supper clubs and banquet halls. Even though Silky and Janiese Toi are no longer together they manage to collaborate on entertainment projects from time to time.
  In 2005 Silky recorded her first solo CD entitled “Smooth & Sassy”. In 2009 she recorded her second CD called “Paradies”.  In 2011 Silky teamed up locally know Poetic Word & Rap Artist Ian Broxton to fashion her latest 2 hits “Dance With Me and ‘Love is the Answer”  
She is also the founder of  S.E.G. or  Silk Entertainment Group/Productions, LLC   This organization was originally  formed to help spot light local talent, who also happened to also be spiritual-minded.   S.E.G./S.E.P. is known for hiring many different types of  Singers, DJ’s, Caterers, and Bands to assist local area party goers with their events from planning through to the production.  Silky Howard has expanded her business to also include being a “Promoter” bringing nationally known and famous groups to the DC/VA/MD metro area for concerts each year.  Some events have been co-sponsored with Chuck at Raw Dawg Promotions  and Greg Hills of Soul1 Entertainment.
