The song explores the lengths we go to hang on to love. “Drag me, drag me, don’t drag me, don’t drag me”…the line is thin. It is hard to know what draws us to love someone in the first place, but when a relationship is complicated by hurt, it becomes a double edged sword. In love we experience extremes, the ecstasy and freedom that has been written about through the ages, and conversely, the deepest, darkest pain that can make us feel desperate and trapped. This song is a plea with a lover. “Heal me, or break me down, feel me or let me drown. Save me or free me, just don’t drag me around”. The end result is unknown, but through the pain, it is sung with a hope in the power for love to transform and transcend.
