Back to the cover material again, here we have another take of mine on the legendary band Thompson Twins. This was next to the last album released on Warner Bros...Big Trash...in 1989. It got mixed reviews in the press, but personally I thought it held up well and stood it's ground. Doing the research I found it was done entirely on the Fairlight CMI (but I think some Synclavier is involved...HAS to be!). With all due respect, I went through my library, using sounds from the Emulator and Fairlight. Only ONE loop is present...the agogo/cowbell that plays throughout...everything else is multitracked by myself. I used two sessions....one consisting of 32 separate tracks for the music, and another session consisting of 12 tracks for vocals/additional instrumentation. Sooo, I can see how a 48 channel console comes in handy back in the day! Enjoy. I toyed with formants to achieve all of Alannah Currie's vocals in the harmonies. All instrumentation and vocals are myself with the exception of the loop. Enough geek talk. Play the damn thing.... -C.

I recorded this last year, but haven't really shared with many people. My version of CMB's hit song "I Wanna Sex You Up" goes over extraordinarily well at most karaoke events. I didn't use auto tune, either. Rather I tried to sing it the way it was intended to be delivered. The backing vocals are mine as well. They were a rightful task to try to duplicate. The ONLY sample is the "tick tock you don't stop" loop that plays throughout much of the cover. Enjoy. -C. www.coreystuart.com

Journey -Separate ways (Child In Disguise Remix)

I've always loved the original version of this song.  I can remember being enthralled at the robots that were used in the video...and that this man had a sound that was well ahead of his time. So I set out to create an anthem of sorts, something that would make you wanna jump up and down to. I took the highly recognisable synth riff that everyone identifies this with out, and instead made the hook the scratching which Grandmaster DST dropped in the track. I hope you guys enjoy it too.  Play it loud.

"Love On Your Side" was the first Thompson Twins single I ever heard, and I was an instant fan from after that point. Hard to think that Side Kicks, the album it was featured on, is celebrating it's 30th Anniversary next year. I'm gonna try to get this remix to Alannah Currie and Tom Bailey...I would LOVE for them to do a reunion in 2013. Please, do it for the fans. In the meantime, enjoy this remix. I attempted to recreate many of the signature sounds in the original hit, but make it a little harder and edgier. Hopefully I didn't kill the integrity of the original....enjoy..

Another Def Leppard classic. I've tried to recreate this song in an electro rock/house fashion where it could be played on a dance floor. It's a bit over the top though, and the ad libs towards the end need work. But it's a nice new arrangement, and I thought to share with y'all. Enjoy. -C.

"Corey" Stuart Powell is a musician, producer, vocalist, songwriter and DJ originally from eastern NC. From 2002-2014 NYC was his home and he took the vast amount of musical diversity coming out of it and applied it at one point or another within his material. Presently he is in Wildwood NJ, slowly injecting his style into the summer beach vibe. He is available for remix projects, both mainstream and independent.
