Strzał w kolano is a solo project that began with a concert in Lisbon back in 2017 and has recently been revived. The foundation of this project is a classical guitar (tuned quarter-tone) connected via a piezo microphone to separate guitar amplifiers. The signals emanating from the amplifiers are given distinct identities through horizontal and vertical processing or static manipulation within the texture of the sounds themselves.

Conceptually, Majchrzak is captivated by grappling with structures that are unstable, necessary, and unattainable—both controllable and beyond control. For him, composing serves as a method for pinpointing the paradoxes within composition, while improvisation tests the resilience of those paradoxes. It is a way of shaking the structure, acts of self-vandalism performed on the evolving grammar of the piece over time. All this in defense of the digressive nature of musical flow.
