Fresh from outings on Brotherhood Sound System and Bror Records, Genius of Time member Nils Krogh once again dons the Arkajo alias for a third outing on Aniara. He begins with a touch of fluid, late night dancefloor science, where loose hand percussion hits, sampled spoken word vocals and simple, cyclical riffs ride a bouncy groove rich in thickset acid bass. Krogh then delivers something altogether deeper and dreamier - all glassy-eyed chords, echoing vocal samples and unfussy percussion - before stretching a dark, tribal-influenced deep house roller across the entire B-side. While all three tracks are impressive, this is probably our pick of a very good bunch.

We asked close friends and long time idols to play their part to the full to complete the third edition of the label’s Family Horror compilation series. The outcome is a clear snapshot of the musical inclinations of the three label founders, Sevensol & Map.ache (aka Manamana) and Bender, encapsulating an idiosyncratic, modern house sound that demands an emotional response. 
The compilation comes rounded off by a booklet of photographs from Ria aka Lux which just like the music captures some of the beautiful ‘Good Times’ from this very special period, this time on paper.

The afternoon sun can be brutal in the summer. With your motionless body parked at the beach, it pounds and flattens you with ferocity and determination of an Italian grandma making veal Milanese. Sipping piña coladas brings no respite: the sun is too strong and you are too overheated and dehydrated. You are in a daze; it hurts to open your eyes and it hurts to keep them closed. The email notification sound from your phone slices your daze like a knife. What now?! "A new release", it says. "Why not?" you struggle to think. "Modern House Quintet", it says. "Why not?" Preview "Sunset", it says. "Why not?!" A lowering of the needle, a sip of warm piña colada with its own desperately melting ice and … "Sweet Jesus, I feel a breeze!" you jump. The sun now seems to be pouring itself down the distant horizon, releasing your body from its crosshair. You feel weightless; your body is still sluggish from the heat and piña coladas, but your spirit now moves with all the grace of a ballet dancer. 
It dances a happy dance, for "Sunset" is happy music. The rhythm is happy; the pads are happy and soothing; the track moves like a breeze and even the acid groove, that trademark tool of all things melancholic and trippy, is deftly controlled to bubble pleasantly in the background as the track takes flight.

No longer one of dance musics' best-kept secrets Cormac's reputation as a revered selector has rapidly spread. The Queer Northern Ireland-born DJ is now soundtracking dancefloors the world over with his unique take on HI-NRG, House and Techno.

Cormac was a listener and dancefloor staple at zeitgeist defining London institutions such as Trade, Nag Nag Nag, and Bugged Out! He's currently resident at Dicks in Ankali, Prague and is working on an event 'Aqueerius' with the same crew. As well as appearances at key events like  Sonar Festival, PollarWeisen, Circoloco, WHOLE Festival, Homobloc, Adonis, isburning, Shmutz, Mustang, and many more.

In Berlin and Europe, he's best known for his legendary closing performances at Panorama Bar and Snax. Sometimes running up to eleven hours in length, and with free reign to play across the board sonically, Cormac has fast become a staple on the line-ups for the club. As the light pours in on Monday mornings, the crowd are kept moving with a selection of his extensive 20 years of DJ knowledge.

In 2021 he founded his own imprint Polari Records. Polari is named in reference to the secret old-school gay slang once used in Europe. The label showcases new and established producers with each release featuring collectible artwork from LGBTQ+ artists. 

Cormac's BBC Radio 1 Essential mix  featured exclusive non-released material from Polari and artists Gerd Janson, Kink, Volta, Alan Dixon, and Jordan Nocturne, alongside the debut of his first solo release on Polari, the much loved anthem “Heartcore”.
As one half of "Comets", he released on the revered Berlin label Ostgut-Ton. “Sparks” an homage to Cowley and Bobby O was released in 2022 on Polari Records. 2023 sees a debut on Running Back Records and the release of Leather ’n Lasers on Polari Records.
