Hvolf is the new album by Icelandic band Stereo Hypnosis, out on Canadian downtempo label Interchill October 8 2021 on limited cd. 
The tracks were recorded and mixed in Reykjavik in 2020. They have a distinct and refreshing edge, and arrangements that get quickly to the essence of each track.   The album speaks of Iceland’s rich natural world, beautiful open spaces, myth and mystery, long winters and patience, and an almost obsessive devotion to high quality audio.   There's a cinematic and epic quality to this music, and the band perform their material live. Hvolf is an album that reflects a people and a place, and clearly stands out from the noise.  Two digital only singles, Barur and Hvarf are accompanied by remixes from Hibernation and also Greg Hunter.

Father and son – Óskar Thorarensen  Pan Thorarensen and Thorkell Atlasson form the electronic trio Stereo Hypnosis.  
The trio was stabilized, between field recording and photo sessions in the remote island Flatey (2006).  They have an organic sound, serene and down tempo – electronic climbing the Icelandic unforgiving highlands.
Stereo Hypnosis has released seven albums, all of which have received excellent reviews, both in Iceland and abroad. Pan and Oskar, have combined over forty years of musical career in Iceland, and are well know and respected for their works.  For the past twelve years Stereo Hypnosis have been touring various countries around the Globe. They are also leading promoters in the Icelandic Electronic scene and founders of "Extreme Chill," an annual electronic music festival which has drawn both local and foreign electronic music enthusiasts into the amber embrace of Icelandic nature.
Þorkell has been involved in classical contemporary music and pop music from his young age. He has worked as a composer and electronic musician in  Rotterdam Holland and also he studied classical guitar. His works have been performed all around Europe and America.
Stereo Hypnosis has traveled and exhibited the art across the world, performing at multiple music festivals- and during these travels, they have bonded with countless musicians, visual artists, agents, reporters and event planners.

Deep Roots

Ecstatic dance set prerecorded live played for the Asheville Movement Collective & Warren Wilson College on 4.14.23. The event was also a benefit for the Center for Conscious Living & Dying, an organization doing incredible service towards cultivating presence and respect for death by honoring and embracing the final seasons of life and providing proper end of life care ✨ 

The set is inspired by their mission, with a vision of cultivating consciousness and presence through the death portal, so expect a bit of a journey into the bardo. May we dance to cultivate a deeper awareness of our relationship with death and may we find that we celebrate life that much more and dance that much harder as a result <3

This set was HIGH energy and SO MUCH FUN!!! A huge storm started half way through and each time the lightening would strike it would simultaneously distort the sound of the speakers. Mother nature reminding us of her immense power. (don't worry you can't hear it on the recording)

The intention for this journey was - Sensations: The portal into Presence, with the invitation to tune into the body and notice the pulsing, tingling and vibrating that is moving through you during your dance. To be aware of the subtle places of contraction, numbness or pain and to breath into them. To open to the expansion, joy and pleasure and to remain connected to your mid line while being in a relational field with others.

For some reason at the beginning of each set, I keep forgetting to hit record right at the start and I mess up one of the first main transitions by forgetting to have the synch on EVEN THOUGH I HAVE A NOTE TO REMIND ME! hahaha ahhh, resting in the humbleness of being human and knowing eventually I will remember and have a totally seamless set!

Cornflower’s sound emerges from the moment connecting you to your Soul. His voice calls us deeper into Presence utilizing modern mantra-like lyrics upon a landscape of vocal loops, he builds layers and dimensions of harmony and groove like sonic lasagne into an anthemic chant to set your body ablaze in movement and prayer.

Cornflower’s music is a mix of experimental vocal soul, world-funk, jam & electronica layered over a delicate balance of structure and improvisation.

He has shared stages with the likes of Michael Franti & Spearhead, Bobby McFerrin, Victor Wooten, Jeff Pevar, Ayla Nereo, Mike Love, Alice DiMicele, Indubious, Jai-Jagdeesh, Fanna-Fi-Allah, Audio Angel and Janet Stone.

After his debut album “Journey Into Sound” in 2009, culled from improvisational performances, his newest studio singles, “You Are The Medicine” featuring Indubious & “Monks on Main Street” are his most focused and potent material to date.
