(Finland's national anthem. The music was composed by Fredrik Pacius and was performed for the first time on 13 May 1848. The current Finnish text is usually attributed to the 1889 translation of Ensign Stål by Paavo Cajander, but in fact originates from the 1867 translation by Julius Krohn.)

Corporate 09 - A Short Biography

The history of techno house, acid house and electro in Finland began in the early 1990's. One of the first pioneers of the Finnish scene were Corporate 09. The group took shape in early 1991 in Turku when Pertti Grönholm and Mika Vainio produced several EBM, industrial and house influenced techno tracks for warehouse parties and club nights organized by Hyperdelic Housers collective. 

A vinyl EP In Joy We Trust was duo's first recording. The EP was released in summer 1991 by Castle Communications. Some tracks, such as The Beast and Almighty Me were frequently played in local warehouse parties. The first Corporate 09 album saw daylight in autumn 1991. The CD Mindprobe was also issued by Castle Communications. 

In 1993 Vainio pursued to his own career as a solo artist and later as a member of Pan Sonic. Since then Corporate 09 has been more or less a solo project of Grönholm. The musical style of Corporate 09 has varied from EBM driven techno to wider soundscapes of ambient and IDM. Occasionally Corporate 09 has made excursions to electro house and acid house. 
 
In the 1990's few Corporate 09 tracks were released on several compilations by Unitunes (a joint label of Dum Records and Sähkö Recordings) and Sauna Connections. In the early 2000's Valimo Productions released a CDR remix album (The Egotrip - Remixes) and a double CDR compilation (Catalogues 1-2). Corporate 09 is currently released by Valimo Productions. 

The newly remastered double albums Hypnologique / Drifting in O-Zone and Flow / The Egotrip - Remixes are available as limited 2CDRs and digital download albums on BandCamp site of Corporate 09. Both compilations were released on May 2019.

In addition, the remastered releases of Mindprobe [Replugged] and In Joy We Trust [Reaffirmed] are available as digital downloads. 

Grönholm is also a member E-Musikgruppe Lux Ohr, Dystopia and Artatak. His solo projects include PG-66, Albertus, Winterplanet and Kytkös. His music has been released on several labels including Svart Records (FIN), Valimo Productions (FIN), Adansonia Records (GER), Cyberware Productions (FIN), Origo Sound / Planet Origo (NO), Sea State (GER), and Antler-Subway / Barramundi (BE).
