When faced with the drama of war that is devastating Ukraine after Russia's invasion, I wonder what can be done. How can we support those who need it? What can actually be done that makes sense? 

I am a musician. My task and mission is to create music, is to share it. So I create music and I give it away as part of a greater whole. 

This time we are joining forces in a project organized by Warsaw's 999 club and editors of muno.pl that has brought together nearly 60 artists and whose aim is to raise funds to help the Ukrainians.

I believe that such action makes sense. It is not only an attempt to support those who need support, but also (or maybe even primarily) to bear witness, not to abandon in our hearts those who resist pure barbarism.

Today, an incomprehensible drama is taking place in Ukraine, whose people simply want to struggle with everyday life in their own way, sovereignly and independently, without 'help' from anyone outside.

How many more such wars, as in Ukraine, Syria, Chechnya, etc., must take place for our species to understand that it serves no one, that conflict is harmful to all? 

It is up to each and every one of us - provided that we are not indifferent and deprived of compassion - to react as we are able. To bear witness. To cultivate peace. 

Because if peace and harmony are not our goal, then we are the real destroyers who are destroying what can give shelter to us all, during this really short stay on this beautiful, truly beautiful, unimaginably wonderful Earth. 

Never ever be indifferent!

PS. Sometimes I hear that music should not be political. Our whole life is political! Our every move is a manifestation of our beliefs. Every move we make is a manifestation of what we believe in, but also may be a manifestation of our indifference. Our indifference is equally political and feeds the dark forces that await this indifference and mental numbness. Our every movement is political in this sense. And so is art. It is always a concrete voice, which, even if not directly, is an expression of this or that state of mind. We choose which state of mind.
