Jennifer Cardini’s imprint Correspondant return with their fourth instalment of the ’Numéro’ series with contributions from respected luminaries of the scene Sarah Wild, David Kochs & Raphael Schön, Keith Holland and DC Salas. Numéro 4 kicks off with the tone setting, progressive Italo-dance adjecent anthem ‘Ready To Fly’ by Sarah Wild. Up next is Kochs & Schön’s collaboration on ’Sweet In Mind’ which merges the pairs signature sounds into an emotive, versatile track playable in multiple contexts. Keith Holland’s ‘Arte’ effortlessly blends classic 90s house motifs with a modern touch. Closing out the impressive four track is Belgium’s DC Salas and ‘Moving Shadows’. The track is a journey through the extremes: dark basslines vs euphoric melodies, embodying the essence of our world: a world full of contradictions. An expertly compiled V/A, Numéro 4 brings together tracks which are both complimentary and different in equal measure.

Alberto Melloni, Rimini's unsung Italo hero is a versatile DJ/producer and multi-instrumentalist with an eye for glistening basslines and groovy vibes.

In the foreground, a sleek sports car speeds down a futuristic highway, leaving streaks of light in its wake. Since the name of the EP is 'Stroken' we simply had to call in Storken for a remix, a match made in heaven, if heaven was filled with disco balls on a party boat cruising through the Balearic Islands.

A collaboration between Greco-German duo Local Suicide, and Argentinian Panko brings this sexy and dark single that mixes both worlds, with some Latin percussions, a groovy baseline, and Spanish vocals. The feeling on it evokes the sensation of stepping into a club, where the euphoric, sensual energy of the dance floor envelops you in ecstasy and the night's journey, intoxicated by the music, surrendering to the urge to dance without inhibition or the need for words.

Greco-German Vamparela and Brax Moody of unstoppable DJ and producer duo and couple Local Suicide do not believe in half measures for their music. In addition to maintaining careers in the music industry, and pu ing on some of the most infamous underground parties Berlin has to offer, these two are still finding time to make waves with their productions and drive live audiences into a frenzy not just in their chosen hometown of Berlin but across all four corners of the world. A wild fusion of new wave, acid, slow techno, EBM, and dark disco is what defines the signature Local Suicide sound. Here at Bordello, the hot season has already arrived. Championing this warmth is Italy’s very own Hey Cabrera! The Turin based dynamo melds elements of electro disco, italo and house to create a uniquely aromatic blend of dancefloor joy. Clean drum patterns, claps and hi-hats are at the foundation of “Italo Void”. From these percussion points, a bold and ensnaring melody takes flight; glimmering synthlines shining from beginning to end. Fellow Bordello mainstay, Lauer arrives to bring his own analogue sound to the title piece. Accentuating that irrepressible tune, piano keys give extra ballast with a touch of late evening romance as we wait for the sun to come up. The flip transports us to Scandinavia for some unrequited love. Although “Forelskelse” may mean unexplored passions, this track is brimming with emotions. Burning with a smouldering energy, ingredients from disco to house combine to produce a wonderfully uplifting work. David Bay, of Zissou Records fame, closes with his interpretation of “Forelskelse”. A measured introduction gives way to those addictive notes of the original, Bay stripping back the samples to allow the instruments to sing. A soundtrack to see us into a magical summer.

Rory Hamilton, aka Hammer, is a Belfast-born and bred producer and one of the underground's most astute artists. He co-helmed the famous Feel My Bicep blog with Bicep and has taken his brand of disco worldwide. He has released it on Optimo, Shall Not Fade and others while running his own Italo Hiits and Remmah. Now he offers another sneak peek of the upcoming Ibiza Get Physical with 'Red Alert.' 

It is a superb and chugging disco sound with a sleazy low end and cosmic arps that spiral up top. A taught bassline keeps things rooted to the floor while subtly euphoric emotions, Italo chord work and retro sound designs all bring the colour. 

Remixer ABSOLUTE. is a key figure on the London dance scene who has graced the cover of Mixmag and released massive crossover hits like ‘String Theory’,’Stuck in Love’ and ‘Voices’ whilst dropping music on Shall Not Fade, DJ Haus’ Hot Haus and La La’s Sound as Records, amongst others.
