Heavily influenced by Pauline Oliveros, and her "Deep Listening" music and philosophies, this album has perhaps been years in the making. 

I often set up PureData patches to make interesting soundscapes that can go on for hours. These are great to listen to as background music, and sometimes even for sleeping. I'm not promising the content is going to be profound, but it will be entertaining. This album is a collection of many of these patches, put into roughly 2 minute snippets of how they sound when operating. 

I believe in music for every level of listening - be it shallow or deep. I hope all listeners find value in these tracks, and that 20 minutes of your time, for 2 minutes at a time, will not be too much to ask to listen. 

If you have any questions about how any of these were produced, please email me! If you'd like "Zobot" to try out another pitch class set, I'll be happy to send you hours' worth of the results. (That may be its' own future album).

(I hope I could manufacture Genesis cartridges which is not at reach by now ._.)

Pure Data - Generative Music Basic

Once upon a time there was a peaceful and numb world, it was all so boring... until the invasion began. The Blast Processor may have made some bullet holes, but it also made that world wake up.

This album is my repay for a lot of things and people I met in my life and made my mindset what it is now (a mess of beautiful gamey musicy stuff). Starting from my Genesis console when I was a kid, the games I played then, the people that I met who shared the love for that console and that sound the people that introduced me to the pure YM2612 music creation, the people that made me love and make chiptunes and the people that makes the tools so that we arttists can burst out all that love into music.

This version includes remixes by my awesome friends Jredd and swerdmurd!

You'll also find a ROM that you can load into your favorite Genesis/MegaDrive emulator (I recommend KFusion) or in a flash cartridge to play it in real hardware!

This is a piece I wrote for my Csound class. It is written in pure Csound. What you hear is what you get when you compile the code. No samples were used. No outside signal processing was done. There was, however, some help in score generation using a variety of custom-made Python and C utilities. 


This is what is traditionally known as a Csound Notelist composition.
