If you happen to be having a conversation about Gospel music in Guyana and stumble upon the name Samuel “Musiq” Medas, - as he is known, you are guaranteed to find that this is no ordinary young man. To many of his fans, he is much more than the skinny dude with that a-mayy-zing voice that they have a hard time believing comes from him. To them he is friend, role model, brother, humorous, inspirational and the kind of artiste whose music you can certainly connect with. What makes this young man all the more distinguished is that at age 23, his calling as a psalmist is clearly defined. Allow him to get behind a keyboard, and hit that worship zone; you'll know just what I'm talking about.

Born on the 4th of December 1988 he's the first child of Charles and Peggy, two very humble people who God has now raised up to pastor The Healing Center. When you listen to this singer-song writer, musician, record-producer, multi-instrumentalist; talk about his childhood, you'll recognise at least two things: he's a country boy at heart, and this experiences growing up definitely impact the way he expresses himself. 

Samuel began playing the keyboard at age 5; an ability that he can only thank the Holy Spirit for; and a few years later found out that he could also sing when he wowed the crowd at a Sunday school rally. Ironically, he struggled to fit in with the crowd at school so much that rebellion was how far he was willing to go just to run from his calling. Musiq Medas testified about the crossroads in his life –In his song "Where Would I Be?" He talks about an accident and a miracle; the moment of truth that caused him to see that someone greater was running his show and that he needed to surrender. And surrender he did.

Now today, he knows that embracing a real God and pursuing his calling were the best decisions he's ever made. With an unorthodox approach and a drive to succeed, Samuel along with his cousin Allan Petty formed his own group Cross Carriers in 2004. Eight years later while serving as minister of music in his local church and still doing music at greater levels, Cross Carriers is proof that the Lord's wind of favour precedes him. In 2008 his group released their first 8-track album “RE-Present Him” that was probably the key that started opening doors for both Samuel and the people who worked with him. In 2009 he connected with world renowned Psalmist Sean Sobers and started to travel with him to the nations, serving as his musician. Psalmist Sean's willingness to develop this young man and push him to the front on many of their ministry trips was another divine move. One year later Samuel found himself being addressed by a title that he neither asked for nor felt comfortable with - Psalmist. But it was undeniable. People saw the grace on his life and embraced it. 

With rapidly growing appeal, Musiq Medas has minister in Suriname, Barbados, Antigua, Jamaica, and the USA. He has shared stages with industry greats DJ Nicholas, Detrick Haddon, Ce Ce Wianns, Papa San; Prodigal Son; and more.




His simplicity in style and the potency of his creativity, along with a very evident passion for Jesus are clear indications of where he's headed. He is known for shifting the atmosphere whatever platform he is on: from the church to stadiums to the streets. November 24th was a significant day in Guyanese music; the launching date of his 15 Tracks Heart to Heart album - his first project as a solo artiste. 

Recently Samuel founded The Comfort Zone Inc, a record label & booking agency that illustrates his passion to raise the bar for gospel music in Guyana & to inspire others to create music to feed, nurture and elevate their congregations through praise & worship both locally & internationally. It is the goal of the label to impact the world by breaking racial boundaries to restore pure worship to the Kingdom.

One such talent that has carved out a niche for himself is Christopher Martin. Think swagger, sex appeal and tremendous talent. Among his contemporaries there is no comparison to Christopher’s vocal strength, outstanding stage performance and his ability to have patrons singing his every tune. Christopher Martin is the quintessential modern artiste!

Hailing from the rural community of Back Pasture, St. Catherine and born on Valentines Day in 1987 to parents Cleveland and Maxine Martin, from an early age Christopher honed his talent at Watermount All-Age School and later went on to graduate from St. Jago High School. It was during his High School years that his love for music and sports blossomed leading him to enter Jamaica’s number one talent show in 2005.

Martin went on to win the Digicel Rising Stars competition and further cemented his position in the hearts of Jamaicans when he participated in the Digicel’s Christmas promotions in 2005. Christopher created history when he became the first Digicel Rising Stars Alumnus to score a hit single on the charts in Jamaica with the song “Love is all We Need’

Soon after the artiste debuted is first single, he joined the Big Yard recording outfit which is home to diamond selling artiste Shaggy and Producer extraordinaire Robert Livingston. Following on his initial success, Martin became one of the most sought after artiste on the Jamaican entertainment scene. But he did not rest comfortably, however, as he has consistently churned out hit after hit using his tremendous vocal prowess and proven lyrical ability to win himself more fans.

Christopher Martin has greeted the world with hits such as Nah Go Change, Take My Wings, Tonight, Giving It, the chart-smashing single, Jamaican Girls , Driver and Gallis featuring Busy Signal. Martin has also worked with the best of the best over the years including Robert Livingston of Big Yard, Arif Cooper of Fresh Ear Productions, Shane Brown of Jukeboxx, Christopher Birch and Mosiah Music to name a few.

Fast forward to 2010 and Christopher Martin is as strong as ever. The artiste continues to unleash the hits with new songs such as Real Friends, Melody to My Song, Paper Lovin, Come Where You Going, Journey of love, Vibe is Right and the European Smash To the Top: a collaboration with German Reggae Star, Gentleman. All these songs have done well both locally and internationally with To the Top winning Christopher Martin a spot on Gentleman’s Multicity European Tour performing in Germany, Switzerland, France, Holland, Spain, Luxemburg, Poland, Macedonia, and the Czech Republic.

The artiste, who has claimed his position as a staple on the Jamaican entertainment calendar and is making his way through the European scene, also has a presence in Asia as he recently releases his first self titled album in Japan under the Rockers Island Imprint.

Christopher Martin has come full circle and is continuously growing his fan base locally and internationally.
