The song was originally recorded in a spur-of-the-moment demo session in 1988. Israel called the recording studio at 3 am, and was given a 15-minute deadline to arrive by recording engineer Milan Bertosa. Bertosa recalled, “Israel was probably like 500 pounds. And the first thing at hand is to find something for him to sit on." The building security found Israel a large steel chair. "Then I put up some microphones, do a quick sound check, roll tape, and the first thing he does is 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow.' He played and sang, one take, and it was over."

This playful tune combines the honesty of authentic street music with a distinctive electronic groove, delivering pure embracing happiness through the speakers. Swaying percussion fuses with a pulse-pounding double bass and rhythmic beat on "Nada Más" to create a sun-drenched ode to long nights of dancing and frisky bliss. 

The jazzy soul of the production is given a special cumbia touch by accordion and enchanting flair by a decently added clarinet. The voice of the ensemble singer gives "Nada Más" an extra laid-back quality that is second to none.

"Estrella Morente is undoubtedly my favourite flamenco singer. Last year, I had the pleasure to visit Andalusia for the first time and as I expected I was quickly fascinated by its beautiful landscapes, entrancing music and rich culture. I then decided to pay tribute through this Edit by the one and only Estrella.

The song demonizes superstition in the truest sense of the word 😂... I personally just like the message that you shouldn't look back or too much into the future... especially when you're rocking out at a party, then these moments are magical and somehow infinite. This and the catchy riffs and chords then tempted me to push the song a little bit towards the dance floor with a gently modified arrangement.

Armenian folk song from Mush and Sasun regions.

Collectif Medz Bazar, created in 2012 in Paris, is composed of musicians of Armenian, Turkish, French and American cultures. Drawing on their respective traditions as well as those of neighboring cultures, the members of the collective create together original arrangements of traditional music as well as compositions of their own.
On stage, Collectif Medz Bazar balances tempered instruments with music from modal traditions, including Middle-Eastern percussion and Parisian voices of various origins (Armenian, Turkish, and French-American), inspired by folk music from Asia Minor and Iran, Caucasian Rabiz and rhythms from Thrace, with touches of Venezuelan sounds, operette, hip-hop, jazz and bluegrass.

Lemurian’s record label Cosmic Awakenings drops a flamenco influenced downtempo/organic house release featuring stunning tracks by @etna_music.

@etna_music is an Italian artist based in Ibiza and he is making his debut on Cosmic Awakenings following music on other record labels such as Speedsound Music, Hupupa, Crew Love Records and Blackpoint Records.

He is a talented multi-instrumentalist whose organic tracks fuse live instruments with sequenced beats and immersive synth lines.

Although a new artist within the electronic music scene, @etna_music is an accomplished music producer with a background working for Universal Music and Sony Music. His achievements also include writing music for massive brands ranging from Yves Saint Laurent to Nike.

All three of the tracks on this release showcase his skills as a musician, as “Universo” opens the release with fluttering guitars and soothing Spanish vocals layered with sweeping synths. “Samsara” has an upbeat vibe with Latin rhythms and shuffling percussion that brings the heat to the dance floor. “Cielo Maya” is a laid-back and trippy track with sun-drenched guitar licks, sensual vocal and chunky percussion sequenced into a downtempo groove.

“Venti Del Karma” is a bonus track only available via Hypeddit/Soundcloud and it orientates around emotive vocals, a playful accordion and psychedelic guitar licks underpinned by flowing percussion.
