man! what can I say... everything in this really pops! such incredible horn performances, with Hendrik's usual amazing song structure underneath. what an amazing and vibrant sound.  love that constant bongo beat holding it together. One of my favourites from you guys in a while!!

Around the time I turned 50, a couple years ago, we got a nice electric piano and I promised myself I would try to learn to play boogie style piano. After a few recordings of much shorter and simpler attempts, this is about as far as I got, after about half a year.

This tune was used as the basis for a longer, heavier version I did more recently, building other instruments around it. Here's that 'expanded' version...
