We usually release instrumental tracks on Wednesdays, but since none of us will have any free time next Wednesday, here’s a "new" instruMETAL for you (yeah, we know, that wordplay sucks!).  
We put "new" in quotes because, well, it’s not really new! This is actually the closing track from "Metal Edge", our metal album, released (pretty much everywhere) on October 10, 2024. These sisters hung out with us on our dock last summer. Luanne disappeared for some time and Bluanne was quite distressed, quacking constantly. (The quacks on the track are hers.) When Luanne eventually returned, she was back to her old tricks of bullying her sister.

Fireworks explores the imagery of the various celebratory fireworks which can be heard throughout the Kurilpa peninsula and seen from vantage spots at South Bank and on Highgate Hill, during festive days such as New Years and Riverfire. This piece is joyful, full of colour via contrasts in touch, register, pedalling and modes. A little dramatic space can be taken at times when needing to reach accented octave chords and jumps.
