This is the 7th song posted from the album I have been working on using demo tracks given to me by Wou-Wou & the Wormling during the start of the pandemic! I can't believe how fast time has passed and how long we have been working on this project. 4 songs from the album are based on a graphic novel that Wou-Wou had started before the pandemic began. The rest of the songs are reflections of the weird times we were living in.

Big thanks to Wou Wou, Bit-zone, and Stricknice for still being here after all these years. I have known and worked with people on SoundCloud probably longer than I have known high school friends, college friends, and friends from various jobs. Huge thanks to Guitar Wizards of the Future. I remember when I first began participating in the SoundCloud community, I would always eagerly anticipate a new GWOTF track, especially because I grew up in Oakland California. This is a cover of Pink Floyd's Breathe (In the Air), which is the second song from their infamous album, Dark Side of the Moon. I really enjoyed playing each instrument on this. The baseline is awesome, while I made due with laying my Les Paul on my lap to emulate the slide guitar.

It's interesting to hear that the song "Life as Whirlpool" originates from China, and explores the theme of using certain behaviors as an escape from life's problems and challenges. These behaviors may provide temporary relief from everyday worries but often fail to address the underlying issues and can even create new problems in their place. The real solution may lie in finding healthier ways to cope with daily routines and regain a wholesome life path

It Is Quiet (with Janine Levinson)

When Tom approached me with this piano melody, the initial arrangement and the title to which he hoped I’d add lyrics and vocals, I thought it was almost unnecessary as the piece already said everything required. Shortly afterwards, Jussi had added sublime guitar which offered a hopeful balance in the mood. Knowing what Tom was referring to without discussing it openly I wrote these words from a similar position of experience. I contrasted the first verse of a woman at her peak with the second verse of a woman in decline to heighten the emotion. I found that the spoken word approach allowed more emotion to flow from both the music and the words. Tom had the great idea to ask Hidefumi to complete the song with a phenomenal solo. Thank you to everyone who helped make this come together, and a very special thanks to all of you for listening.
