New mutant offshoot from the Talking Drums crew…

You know how it goes at the after party, over indulge and you end up hogging the conversation. So, in the interest of better dancefloor discourse allow us to present Drum Chums, a new series of edits by percussion pals from across the globe.

This inaugural edition comes from our good buddy Basso, a Hamburg homie whose digging expertise is rivalled only by his scalpel skills and superb silliness. Dipping into the darkest corners of his ever-Growing Bins, Bussi shines up a quartet of rediscovered delights for an edit EP which oozes grooves and off balance moves.

On an uptempo A-side, the German luxuriates in the spectral arps, glistening licks and uplifting chords of fusion boogie winner 'Do Stay For Breakfast' before serving the steamy, sultry and seductive vampire disco jam 'Soft Choppers'. 

Things take a turn for the Balearic on the B-side thanks to the Afro-tropical pop of 'Simple Stroll', all electroid bass, chugging percussion and playful guitar, and finally the cosmic cool of 'Breaking Bread', a spaced out bossa for heads and feet.

The Charles Webster remix of this track was released in 2015 on the Japan only CD LP, 'Vacations Never Taken' (Victor Entertainment). The Ambient Mix was included on the, 'Miró In The Bathroom' album which came out on Jansen Jardin in April 2021. Bandung-based Munir has been creating a near endless stream of captivating music in recent years and was always an artist we hoped to include in the roster. Also known for his work recorded as Midnight Runners, the talented producer skips through genres with ease as he consistently arrives with infectious sounds and textures. Here he delivers a gorgeous, Italo-inspired disco hybrid, infused with star-gazing musicality as well as ample dance-focused weight.

Just a few months after the release of MTT005 with Desert Island Disco, Mister T. records are pleased to announce their first compilation welcoming recognized and emerging artists from 5 different countries, united by their love of electronic music. The compilation is split in two sides : Musica Per Ballare - the first Volume - built around the love of Italo influences and Musica Para Bailar - the 2nd Volume - made with balearic aesthetics.

On the Adriatic side of the compilation, the label welcomes two producers already known by MTT followers as Sim Fossil was at the center of the 4th release of the label and Nicolas Kotowicz already contributed to the Paradise Edits project. However, the EP opens with Black Feeling “Stomper”, a modern happy Italo anthem with a strong classic bassline boosted by an overpowering synth choir.
The second track of the EP, “Coastal Night”, is a tribute to more sentimental Italo tunes and the first production of Nicolas Kotowicz. The precision and depth of Nicolas’ sounds make this tune an incredible tool for parties and podcasts.

Musica Per Ballare’s last track steps a bit aside from the classic vision of Italo with dirtier samples and Sim Fossil’s special spacy pads. Yet, “Zero Action” brings the compilation to an end on a perfect note with a banger track for clubs mixing Italo’s beauty with house efficiency.
