EINHERJAR ORIGINS :

The einherjar, in Old Norse, literally “those who fight alone”, are the band of the spirits of elite warriors who have died in battle and are brought to Valhalla, the magnificent hall of the god Odin, by Valkyries. 

Noble Viking warriors aspired to become one of the einherjar after they died.

The lifestyle of the einherjar would have been the envy of living Vikings. All day long, they fight one another, doing countless valorous deeds along the way. But every evening, all their wounds are healed, and they are restored to full health.

They would work up quite an appetite from all those battles, and their dinners don’t disappoint. Their meat comes from the boar Sæhrímnir (Old Norse), who comes back to life every time he is slaughtered and butchered. For their drink they have mead that comes from the udder of the goat Heiðrun (Old Norse). They thereby enjoy an endless supply of their exceptionally fine food and drink. They are waited on by the beautiful Valkyries.

However, Odin doesn’t keep the Einherjars around just so they can enjoy extravagant pleasures. He has a particular purpose in mind for them, and they’ve all been carefully selected to fulfill this purpose…

At Ragnarok, the final battle between the gods and the giants, Odin is fated to fight the dreadful wolf FENRIR. The einherjar will fight valiantly by his side. But despite all their fearless efforts, they are doomed to fall with their master – and with the rest of the cosmos as well.

Einherjar_Valhalla's Untold Story - KALANI Magical Forest Festival 2022

The project MCGUIRE has been born out of a desire to explore soundscapes that are fundamentally what we have grown to love, with an earthy, swampy twist.

By exploring Psy-Tech, Bush Prog and Dark Prog, I have been able to bring to light the tribal spirit of the Australian Doof, and purvey those sounds on South African shores.

This is a passion project aimed at unearthing the primal side of music!

In classical Indian culture, dance is a demanding physical discipline. Dance prepares the mind for spiritual leaps: the dancer enters a trance, the dancer and the dance become one, reenacting the union of the individual soul with the transcendent divine.

The great Hindu god Shiva has many aspects or forms. Here he appears as Natarāja, the Lord of the Dance. The dance illustrates Shiva’s role as the deity who destroys the cosmos so that it can be renewed again. Shiva oversees the endless cycles of time, marking its pace with his drum and footsteps.

Creation and destruction are the two ends of the same moment.  Everything between the creation and the next destruction is the journey of life. The urge to destroy is also a creative urge. Modern physics has... revealed that every subatomic particle not only performs an energy dance, but also is an energy dance; a pulsating process of creation and destruction. 

Art is a lie that makes us realize truth.

Kostas Daikos is the person behind the Greek project E-Mov.
His interest in electronic music production started during his student years which he spent mostly in the UK. With the experience he already had from many years of musical studies and as a performing guitar player in various bands, he started composing various styles from lounge to drum’n’bass, over ambient to psychedelic. In 2003 E-Mov was formed, aiming mostly in creating a blend of psychedelic and progressive music, largely influenced by ethnic and tribal elements. Guitars, male and female vocals and percussions were ingeniously incorporated. Since 2013 E-Mov joined Belgian label Dacru Records.

Dacru Records is a Belgian psytrance label. The label boosts a strong selection of artists, from major names with a 20 year career under the belt to younger promising talents. The rosters includes names like U-Recken, Talamasca, DigiCult, Spirit Architect, Tropical Bleyage, Bitkit, E-Mov, Electric Universe, Aquila, Overdrive, A-Tech, Transient Disorder and more. The aim is to release timeless music with a strong emphasis on the psychedelic and melodic.
Besides being a record label Dacru has also been making a name as event promoter with over 80 events since 2001, that’s a whole of a lot of experience that goes into organizing quality productions. The events have taken place all over Belgium, from The Netherlands to Germany and even in exotic places as Thailand and include big and small indoor events, open air festivals, bus trips, 11 day pop up clubs and more. Some of the party lines include Organic Dreams, Tribal Roots, After Sunrise and Nova’s Incident open air.
