The Politics Of Dancing label hits release number 30 here with a suitably fresh new offering that finds the eponymous label head stepping up with three balmy new tunes. 'Let's Do This' is fresh as you like house music with deep drums and heady pads circling round in cosmic fashion. Search and Resistance in "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)"
In Eurythmics' "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)," the striking repetition of "Everybody's looking for something" highlights a universal search for satisfaction, but also highlights the frustration of desires that always seem unattainable. Annie Lennox revealed that the lyrics emerged in a moment of despair and nihilism, which is reflected in the disenchanted worldview presented in the song: sweet dreams are made of expectations and illusions that everyone chases, with no guarantee of fulfillment.
