Gratts & Eluize met in their adopted home in Berlin. From Belgium and Australia respectively, they share a mutual love for hunting down good music and sharing the treasures they dust off.

Their new project ’Together’ is the culmination of their many years of DJing, touring and wide spread influences from opposite hemispheres. From random or long awaited record store finds, dance floor tips from artists they admire, late night internet searches, gifts from friends, experiments, recommendations from strangers at parties or taxi drivers on the way, to melodies caught playing in the background on travels the world over.

“In this city, where most of your friends are DJs and musicians, and everyone is creating listening to and suggesting incredible music all the time, we wanted to have a platform to curate our favorites, and pass them on for more people to enjoy”‘Together’ is a monthly show, presenting hand picked music from their collections.

Connan Mockasin - 'Forever Dolphin Love' (Erol Alkan's Extended Rework Version 2) [PH13RMX]

we had the pleasure of contributing to the Kwaitour event @ Ohm Berlin in May . Belgium raised berlin based dj Gratts also played the same event and his set was recorded .
DJ Gratts has spent the best part of two decades lugging bags of records around Europe, and latterly Asia and Australia with increasing frequency. First biting the bug for good-time house, techno and disco in the late 90s, he honed his craft as part of the We Play House gang throughout the following decade, and began pushing out of his homeland around the 10s. In keeping the heart of the music in mind, Gratts ensures the feet are always engaged. Genres aren’t important, though: no matter what’s spinning, it’s all about the uplift, the heart and the freedom. His deep knowledge of groove-heavy, dancefloor-ready music affords him versatility - he’s as comfortable playing alongside Steffi or DJ Sprinkles as Hunee or András Fox. As well as an able selector, he’s a keen curator-collaborator: he produces music under his own name, as Icarus Traxx and with Eluize as Ca$hminus; he plays records with San Soda as Het Collect-Ief Deruyter; and last but not least with fellow Belgian dj Kong, he runs the ensemble label from Brussels .
while many records played in this set are South-African, probably just as many aren't, but were influenced by (his personal vision) of the kwaito vibe and aesthetic. So apart from house music, bubblegum and kwaito, the mix also contains non SA produced tunes that got played on SA dancefloors, SA themed records (e.g. Massive Sounds / Bobby Konders' "Free South Africa") .
