Salvador Poletti is a multi instrumentalist and producer from Buenos Aires, Argentina. Initiated as a guitar player in the jazz and funk ambient, he search for tunes in downtempo prioritizing harmony and organic vibes. He cames from a musician familiy, so when inspiration needed there are no prejudices or musical frontiers. He has recently play live with artist like Barda and El Remolon among others, in his shows he plays guitar and keys, mixing it with the live digital session and own productions.

About this edit :
A friend once told me that our vision of the music landscape is skewed by what is available on internet. We believe that it is a mirror of the music that exists all around us, without realizing that it only hosts the music that major record labels would upload - leaving behind the rich & diverse music ecosystem from smaller & indie ones, that can only be found in record stores around the world. There has been in the past couple of decades an uptick in new labels like Habibi Funk or Analog Africa that would take on the gargantuan task of traveling, digging & republishing those gems - allowing us to discover this music. The credit goes to them. I couldn't be more thankful.

The minute I listened to this track, I was struck by its raw energy & the charisma of the singer. I had to make an edit, anything, that would let me play it alongside my tracks in sets. I've also tried not to take too much away from the voice & rhythm of the original one, while adapting it to a more club friendly format. I hope you enjoy it!

About this edit :
I am happy to share this EDIT with you, which started as an idea about two years ago and had not been able to materialize until now. The inspiration came directly from my vinyl collection, where I have a lot of records from the 60s and 90s. "Before You" is an instrumental track, Jamming, from the album "Their Satanic Majesties Second Request" (1996) by The Brian Jonestown Massacre, an album inspired by "Their Satanic Majesties Request" (1967) by the Rolling Stones, the figure of Brian Jones and the psychedelia culture of the 60s.

I have always liked the free way of making music that this band has and and while working on the track, I had many memories of my first trip to India and Nepal when I was 19 years old, those same emotions that occur before starting a great adventure or a new path in your life is the one that I would like to convey in this song, which features Gabriel Feller's participation in Sitar, and samples from various sources, including one of my favorite films "Meetings with Remarkable Men" (1979) by Peter Brook, inspired by Gurdjieff's youth and his search for the meaning of life.

The story, by El Extravagante:

This is a very special song, written and recorded in Montréal, our Cosmovision Records city!, it was during the famous ¨bed-in for peace¨  in 1969 by John Lennon and Yoko Ono at the Queen Elizabeth Hotel, where also the picture of this cover was taken. 

All my life a big fan of these 2 artists and their peace activism, this song makes me happy and gives me light and hope to know that we are here to make a positive change, despite the circumstances we can always do something and to raise awareness of the importance of peace in the world should always be a priority.

It breaks my heart to see all these wars happening, with music friends being affected and even If maybe I can't do much, I chose to speak up for peace from this little place we have as artists. Please, anywhere you are never forget to speak up for peace, ¨dance for peace, make love for peace¨ and that  ¨Peace is like mantra that we have to repeat over and over¨ J.Lennon.

The early songs of Dr. John fascinate with their unique mixture of Creole Folklore, Rhythm & Blues and Psychedelic Rock. This special genre is called Voodoo Rock. For me the song „I walk on Guilded Splinters“ is the epitome of Voodoo Rock.
Due to its reduced instrumentation, with long percussive passages, mystical and haunting vocals, it was particularly suitable for editing, remixing and transforming it into a new century. I really hope to get the chance to play this song at one or the other festival this summer.

A mixture bewtween the vocals of "Newclus - Jam On It" and a slightly adapted version of my song "The Fish".
So it´s a kinda crossover-ish remix approach ;)
"The Fish" is a highly hip-shaking funk-approach on bouncy downtempo.
But who doesn´t like some good old hip-hop vocals blended into that?
Therefore Senior Citizen made the mashup with the vocals of "Newclus -Jam On It" to extend the song even further.
Grab yourself a morning coffee or favorite dancing shoes, cause there is a risk involved that you´ll start your day with a good vibe, that get´s you moving.

About this track
Max Tenrom is a friend, and above all, an artist I really admire. When I first heard 'Moka', I was immediately captivated by the incredibly inspiring vocals that invite you on a journey, and by the violin that resonated with me internally. I also enjoyed the overall groove of the track. For this remix, I wanted to bring in my melodic touch and add a hint of oriental influence, while contrasting it with techno elements, including my bassline and some melodic techno synths. It was a true pleasure to work on this remix

About Badenya Les Frères Coulibaly

Formed in Nuna, located in northwestern Burkina Faso, Badenya les Freres Coulibaly are part of a family of griots (musician storytellers, also known as jali and jeli in West Africa) and are members of the Bwa ethnic group.
Originally composed by the twins Lassina and Ousseni and known as les Freres Coulibaly, the group grew up to 8 members of the Coulibaly family and are called Badenya les Freres Coulibaly.
Lassina and Ousseni traveled for the first time to Europe in 1989. Invited by the “Atelier of Ethnomusicology” in Geneva to teach African percussion and dance. From there, they traveled to Switzerland, Germany, Netherlands and the UK. The public was instantly conquered by their natural ease, their radiation, which emanated from these young musicians freshly arrived from Burkina Faso. Their togetherness seemed perfect an inalterable, no disagreement seemed possible between them.
Invited to the Montreux Jazz Festival they performed under the artistic direction of Quincy Jones for an evening with Miles Davis. In reaction to this success, Claude Nobs and Quincy Jones invited the trio for 2 additional nights and they got to play with Georges Clinton, Georges Benson, Al Jarreau, Toots Thielmans, the rappers Kool Moe Dee, Mel Mellow and many others.
In 1993, Solo, Lassina and Ousseni released their first album Anka-Dia. They flew to Tunisia to teach percussion and the next year, flew to Spain, (Madrid and Barcelona) to be part of an African festival with Salif Keita, Cesaria Evora, Khaled and Johnny Clegg. Then les Freres Coulibaly were invited by Baaba Maal in Senegal for his tenth anniversary in the music world. There they met Peter Gabriel and shared several exceptional performances with Youssou N’Dour.
2000-2001: Release of the second album “Seniwe (Solidarity) with the entire family. The promotional tour for the album took the group to America, Israel, Malaysia, Germany and Austria. The following year they flew everywhere in Europe and in June, Carlos Santana invited the band to perform with him at the Letzigrund stadium in Zurich.
This track was selected by Putumayo World Music, a record label known for its compilation albums featuring various artists from different cultural backgrounds. "African Groove" is one of the albums in their collection, typically featuring a selection of tracks from African musicians or groups. These albums are often curated to showcase the diversity and richness of African music, ranging from traditional to contemporary genres such as Afrobeat, Highlife, Soukous, and more. "African Groove" would likely offer listeners a vibrant and rhythmic journey through the musical traditions of Africa. It's a great way for people to explore and appreciate the vast array of sounds.

Always loved the original version of Boroto since long time ago, and was playing this in a dj set and while transitioning to other tune realized that could be a good idea for an edit for more danceable purposes. Hope you enjoy this and appreciate a respectful representation of African music in an electronic context. About this track
I really love giving new sounds to my favorite tracks and I see this as the point of making edits - familiar-sounding tracks in unusual musical styles. This performance of Wonderwall is by far the best, not only in my opinion. Even Noel Gallagher, after hearing this cover, once said that Wonderwall should sound like this. That's why it was so interesting for me to immerse one of my favorite tracks with an ambient country sound into the environment of Italo-disco flavored with acid. Whether I managed to do this is up to you to decide)

This slow ballad, written by Lionel Richie (Commodores), was perfect for creating an energetic and emotional dance track.
I worked on this edit on and off for 4 years, but I never got to the point where I liked the version. At some point I deleted all the original samples and suddenly everything worked by itself.
I replaced the distorted guitar elements and solos with striking synthesizer sounds and the melodic bass with a rhythmic and driving bassline. Little surprises here and there and a headbanging break to top it all off.
Ready for your next gathering.

At the latest when you see Hermit Bob talking to mushrooms and scorning the mischief of mindless capitalistic consumerism, you know it's time to bring Tom Waits home to the club! By this I mean in particular the growing transcultural communities of transformation festivals and mindful clubbing worldwide concerned about global awareness and sustainability!
Looks like I can't talk about Tom Waits without talking about Jim Jarmusch... But besides my great admiration for both their artistic authenticity, sensitivity and for sure Tom's distinctive voice it were simply the raspy scat vocals that hooked me immediately to create this edit. Pure fun really!
The track combines two versions of the song (album 1976/Paris 1979) and brings them together slowed down with a cool shuffled downtempo vibe. The focus is on the scat vocals and original samples that work in A-Minor for a little more mysterious vibe.
And of course the notion of (not only) pasties is also - yes: delicate! We mustn't forget that part! Enjoy the ride!

The m.age.project takes the listener on a colorful trip into cross-genre realms of various cultural influences and state-of-the-art electronic sounds. Producer and DJ Matthias Harnitz from Hannover/Germany, profoundly equipped with essential skills of a classically trained jazz piano player, is the musical mind behind the m.age.project and he can already look back on numerous releases on labels such as Sony Music, Lump Records (Chile), Baikal Nomads (Russia), Ohxalá Records (Portugal) and Shango Records (Greece).
