Quentyn & KEV drop their highly anticipated feel-good anthem ‘Nobody’ 

You can always count on Quentyn to keep you well stoked in both dancefloor bangers and radio gems with his signature indie twist. With his debut album ‘Enroute’ hitting over 10 million streams back in April, Dutch producer Quentyn now teamed up with Swedish singer / songwriter KEV for their brand new radio gem ‘Nobody’ on Enroute Records.

‘Nobody’ blends KEV’s catchy lyrics and mesmerising vocals seamlessly with Quentyn’s unique signature indie sound and energetic electronic tunes. With such a strong song at the heart of this track, little is needed to make it truly shine, but the contrast and effortless mixture of sounds only serves to amplify its charms. This catchy pop/dance crossover is one that stays with you and will undoubtedly get stuck in your head after just one listen. 

KEV: ” The song originated in the middle of the summer of 2020 during the pandemic. It’s about the feeling of just wanting to go away and do something exciting, which is more fun when you have someone in your team who wants the same things as you do. Someone who gives you that sense of freedom and togetherness at the same time. Who’s on your side no matter what, who’s irreplaceable and gives you the opportunity to truly be yourself and do the things you love to do, while they do the same.”

Quentyn: “I knew KEV from his track 'Moments', which absolutely blew me away when I heard it in 2016. Such an amazing atmosphere and one of the reasons I started producing more towards the crossover indie, synth pop genre. Very honoured to have worked with him on this song!”

Having parted Volt & State in 2016, it presented the upside for Quentyn of having more musical freedom than ever before. It allowed him to dive into an experiment with sounds, melodies, and different energies. Now he’s on a mission creating his own ‘Indie Progressive’ genre, which represents the unique blending of progressive house melodies with energetic indie band sounds. With his label Enroute Records he’s building the foundation for this unique combi of genres to emerge, having released work from the likes of Big Data, Anoraak, Josha Daniel, Roisto, J. Laser and more.

The Swedish singer / songwriter Kevin Tullgren is known from his globally championed singles such as ‘’Dreaming Wild” with Klahr and “Moments”. Having released on Universal, Axtone and STMPD RCRDS and toured with artists like Liam Payne, KEV is now ready to take over the pop scene. KEV is all about making people happy and helping them forget the hardships of the world if only for a minute or three.

Formed by London-born brothers Ben and Tom Vella, Child of the Parish is a project that offers a chance for escape, while still posing those all-consuming questions about time, memory, love and relationships. Sweet Surrender takes its cues from classic house and dance, from M83 to Daft Punk, melding those glitchy, electronic sounds with more organic elements of indie, disco and funk. Ben and Tom’s DIY attitude was inherited in part by their family’s musical background: both their granddad and their two great uncles worked in orchestras. Ben started out playing classical guitar before picking up the electric, and going on to find a variety of session work. Something of a renaissance man, he did everything from play the Arabic oud on a documentary about the war in Afghanistan to contribute disco riffs for a Kylie Minogue album. He and Tom—by this point an assured producer and DJ in his own right—joined forces, and picked up early attention from tastemakers such as The Line of Best Fit with their ambitious audio-visual debut. Having worked with such revered figures as remixer/producer Ewan Pearson [Chemical Brothers, Depeche Mode, Goldfrapp], Child of the Parish felt confident on Sweet Surrender in self-producing. In a twist of fate, though, they ended up being aided by award-winning mixer and engineer Shuta Shinoda [Hot Chip, Spiritualised, Daughter, Ghostpoet].
