Born in England, Conil's musical roots extend to England, Ireland, and France, but his deep affection lies with the sounds of American music.

Following the release of Strange Part of the Country, he embarked on a transformative journey, spending the past decade residing in various cities across the United States and Europe, including New York City, New Orleans, Chicago, Athens, and Berlin.

Conil is currently immersed in making a second album, a project that reunites him with the incomparable talents of Danny Thompson and Tchad Blake, as well as several other world class musicians.
