A Texas style story ,“Sold Us the Storm” is my heart cry after Hurricane Harvey — for myself and for every family who watched their home drown while developers kept cashing checks. I still haven’t been compensated, just like so many others, yet the same builders and lobbyists keep getting new contracts in known floodplains and selling those homes to unsuspecting families. This track is the sound of exhaustion with profit over humanity, of being told it was “just the rain” when it was really a chain of human decisions. It’s a call to wake up, to dig for the truth, and for every single person involved in these deals to take responsibility for the damage they signed our lives into.
