Why I like It:
I first heard this song, like most of the world after watching Lisa’s dance film. I loved the concept of the song and the dance. I hope to learn it soon. The song is amazing and has clever lyrics. I mean, come one, “I am that rich man.” That is genius. I know, I’d rather make my own money than rely on someone. I wouldn’t want to live in anyone’s shadow. I’d want to provide for myself. I've always struggled to ask for help financially, especially since I decided to throw away my Bachelor's Degree to work on music. There’s already been someone who tried to play me. I’ve had to be that person that demands to be paid and bombards someone until they pay up for my services. Cause, I am a rich man.

Why I like It:
I thought this was a beautiful song. RiRi’s Anti album was amazing. She has always been so underrated when it comes to her songs and vocals. She gets attention for the things she does, but she never gets the recognition she deserves. She’s one of the classiest celebrities out there. She’s always doing something impressive, whether it’s her skincare and makeup lines or clothing or her music. She’s also one of my favorite vocalists.

Why I Like It:
This is a nice song to cruise in the car to. It’s one of the first songs I play during my gigs. Everyone always asks if I’m playing Post Malone or talks about how they love that song. I can’t lie, it’s just an all-around, nice song. Plus he’s from the town over from me, so I can’t hate on a fellow Texan.

Why I like It:
I cry when I sing this song. I had a hard time in middle school, so I can especially relate to the 2nd verse. I’m super close with my mom. This song hits home with me. Especially since it’s a Taylor Swift song. I never really had a lot of friends. My mom went to my first concert with me, which was a Taylor Swift concert. I’ll never forget all the times I was abandoned by others, but my family was here for me. Looking back, I was sad because I believed no one was there for me. But, I’ve always had my family. It’s why I cherish them so much. Almost all of my happy memories include them.

Why I like It:
After watching the BTS boys do this song, my love for it surged. I had always loved this song and “Yellow.” When I was going through a hard time in high school, these songs helped comfort me. The BTS boys did an amazing job covering it, so I hope I can do it some service as well.

But of the newer artists, I do like Kelsea Ballerini, Maren Morris, and Kacey Musgraves.

“Biased” by Serena's Daydream

Some Background:
Previously- This past month I’ve been busy taking a class on songwriting with some basics in production. I created three different songs, that are basically rough demos. I decided that since the class is over I would post them! Check out the other songs I did called, “Moment” and “Among Us.”

This was the last song I worked out. I wanted to experiment with something SUPER out of my comfort zone. I don’t do cutesy well, and thought I’d give it a try. The things I write aren’t so happy and boppy, and my voice doesn’t really fit the vibe. But, I did my best! I was super inspired by BTS, as I have been a big fan of theirs. My mom is a new ARMY, and I recently ran into a couple of other K-Pop stans while performing at my local mall. This song was inspired by them and by my love of the boys. It was a total coincidence that I took this class, but the timing worked out. Even though it still needs a lot of work, I’m happy to dedicate it to ARMY and the boys. (HAPPY BIRTHDAY JK!)

The class was a meaningful experience for me. I learned a lot about bettering my songwriting and basics in music production. I still need a lot of work on the production side, and I’m hoping to learn more in the future. I think you can tell just how far I came in a month with these songs. I’m happy with the work. We will see if I ever come back to them.
