It has sad tones at the beginning and end but some happier bits in the middle, as I imagined Vincent sitting outside in the sun with his paints and easel.
This piece meanders a fair bit, taking new turns before developing each new thought, perhaps like a bipolar state of mind in the artist, but if you listen carefully there's a theme that repeats throughout the work. In Van Gogh-coda, the sequel to this piece, the score is well structured and "makes sense", perhaps reflecting Vincent's state of mind when he is well.

STOP SLEEPING

Punk flunky, indie drop out, marginally mathy, spacewards or maybe just some 80s fan, Stop Sleeping isn't just a synth and guitar wizard, but also an extremely versatile american singer who can emulate different vocal styles with impressive ease. BROKEN GENERATION's driving force is the Johnny Rotten-style vocals of Stop Sleeping and I believe this is the first of many collabs in the near future. I recorded the lead guitar in 2018; it was 20 minutes long. I shortened it to this track, which is still almost 5 minutes long. The lead guitars still have effects, which I don't mind too much because I like that sound. You can still adjust it with EQ and reverb. I edited my vocals in Moises' studio until I was satisfied.
A female voice can also be heard in certain phrases, which adds a bit more depth.
There are still some deep-side sounds in the vocals. I cut most of them out.
The drums, bass, and piano were recorded with Ujam and had to be adjusted with plugins. You can also hear choir vocals, bells, synths, and water effects.
