DJ Prolific is a Tastemaker. A music head turned DJ that plays a wide range of music from Soul & Hip Hop, to Funk & Afro Beat, to Electronica & Downtempo, to Jazz & Latin. Instead of following the trend of playing what's "hot" at the moment, he plays music that he personally enjoys. And it's worked well for him thus far. Prolific locked down a residency off of the strength of one of his first gigs that's still going strong today. The motto he lives by is from a quote from Miles Davis: "Don't play what's there. Play what's not there." It all goes with the tastemaker culture that he wants to see come back to the forefront of Djing. And he'll continue to battle on the front lines with one hand on the fader until that dream is realized.
