This track reminds me of moments with my father as a young child. He was a hard working man, and came from a place and time where providing for ones family meant devoting his time and energy to earning money and putting food on the table. His was a sacrifice, of sorts. As a boy, I wasn’t fully aware of the need for my fathers attention and guidance on a softer and more emotional level; I grew comfortable in solitude and independence. That realization only came to me as an adult, and looking back, made the rare times that he did bestow his attention on me all the more special. This track evokes memories of kicking a soccer ball around the park on a frigid sunday morning, tumbling through the waves at the beach in Cornwall, and seeing my dads huge, warm smile… when he was free of adult responsibilities for just a brief moment in time.
