4 Friends, Scattered By The Wind Of Life meet up for A Jam - And Recorded It.

Over 50 Original Tracks Written & Recorded in Less Than 8 Hours - 'On The Fly'  One Take!

We enjoyed the session so much we did it again and recorded even more of them !

Well over a hundred tracks in only a day.

This Collection Of Tracks Is the result of a Reunion & Jam Session (Not a Pro Recording Session) In Our Home Town of Macclesfield. 

I'ts sad how life can make you drift away from your roots.
This happened to us, George lives in London, Nick in Bristol, Paul in Cambridge & Jools in Manchester, 
A reunion was hinted at then a reunion jam planned in 2010.
Although we were all friends we had never been in a band together & we hadn't played together in this line-up so thought it would be fun to all meet up and have couple of beers and a Jam, 
So we Did - at a brewery... 
Although the PA got taken away halfway through the session, everyone enjoyed it so much we decided to have another jam at our historic place of making music, the 'Mens Den Barber Shop' (Paul's dads shop) and record it, 
So we did! 
Paul took the recordings home, trimmed off the chit chat and very roughly mixed them.
This is the result 

Unfortunately due to some idiot visiting us and making the place stink to high heaven while we were jamming , we were banned from the Den, Kindly Jake Evans let us use his place for the 2013 Jam, nice one Jake.
The Jams continued back at the Barber Shop in 2014 thanks to Roberts kind understanding.
These haven't been trimmed yet due to a technical malfunction, but yet again, dozens of great ideas flowed.

There seems to be a unique inspirational chemistry between these guys and this has proven to be consistent.

GRAPHINE aka Glass Rockstarr:
We thought a name would be fun for the pretend band, Jools always wanted a band called Glass,  so we tried that, Unfortunately there are loads of bands with that name already so we tried Glasss, then Glasss Rockstarr.
Graphene seemed a little less awkward and as it is clear, strong & flexible seemed very apt.
 
In The Spirit Of "1,2,3,4 - Let's See What Happens, Don't Stop Just Keep Playing and bounce off each other...."

Each Track as written 'On The Fly' With No Preconceptions or Working Out Beforehand.

There's an undeniable scent of nostalgia in the air. Our distraction-filled digital lives have us craving something that is organic, real and spontaneous.

The Last Bees was a spontaneous experiment that soon took on a brand of its own. Ian Ash was inspired by the Led Zeppelin throwback of Greta Van Fleet, and the 60's throwback of artists like JD McPherson, Megan Trainor and Pokey LaFarge. One cold winter in early January, Ash finished recording “Can't Wait” at his home studio in Wisconsin. It was a track with an early Beatles approach, fitting, as Ash is a self-proclaimed Beatles geek with a vocal resonance resembling John Lennon. 

Ian buzzed down to Chicago to play the track for his manager, who posited the question- how about making a collection of songs like this?!...

So, Ash went back to his hive and did just that. He wrote, produced and arranged songs that hark back to a time not so different from our current culture; a time when people also needed positive, uplifting release from the vicissitudes of a world changing so quickly.

The melodies were sweet as honey, but the vocals and instruments had an edge that stung like a bee. And thus, The Last Bees was born.
