There’s a constant bubble of viscous energy that runs through this mix like hot water streaming forth from deep sea geysers that provide warmth and life to so many undersea animal communities. 

Tiny bubbles of percussion flicker as drum breaks come and go, ballooning bass hits impact and pop off into the ether, leaving a constant hum of rhythmic acid lines and rubbery synth sequences. It’s proggy, it’s flirtatious, it’s futuristic and ultimately timeless with contemporary takes on techno, trance and rave tropes are warped with the energy, freedom and futurism

Twists are great - variety is truly the spice of life. Taking us ever so slightly off the beaten path and away from straight-line midweek monotony, Boorloo local Proc and Tape 88 deviates from classic acid house to jungle by way of rubber-band prog and echoes of dub techno.

There’s no obvious direction that Proc takes on “Plot Twist” and that’s a good thing. The mix sounds and feels instinctual, fun and flighty - pretension, chin scratching and dogmatic adherence to genre is disregarded while great tracks and personal enjoyment take centrestage. It’s all about the vibe, man.

Roy is at the forfront of his imprint Local Knowledge. Born out of events, radio, and workshops in Naarm/Melbourne, Local Knowledge, helmed by Roy Mills, is focused on community and the dance-floor in equal measures. Crafting thematic bodies of work within its releases by combining gorgeous visual, aural, and tangible assets, previous releases have featured the likes of LOIF, Nice Girl, Purelink, and more since the first 10” by Hed Ardennes in 2020.

Roy has been busy in the studio releasing stellar dance-floor orientated tools to great regard with recent releases coming on Room II Records, femme culture, and seeing support from esteemed selectors re:ni, Laksa, Simo Cell, Danielle, and Yak amongst others.

Roy Mill’s Global Mix is a sixty minute concoction of dance-floor mania, mixing a variety of pounding selections at a brisk pace. Roy runs through electro, techno, bass, breaks, hard-drum and so much more. This a wavering trip through Roy’s arsenal of pumping selections.
