Abby Echiverri (@echiverri) is a multi-talented producer, musician, DJ, VJ and sound engineer based in Brooklyn, NY. 
Since discovering her music via "Ab Initio" (her 2018 EP on @thebunkerny), our collective have been followers and fans of Abby and the refined yet vibrantly contrasting qualities of her sound. 

Always looking ahead, Abby's explorative approach has a knack of finding intelligent interplays between elements; groove and psychedelic abstraction, lushness and angularity. But most compelling is the naturally hopeful quality that underpins much of her work, providing a sense of freedom and playfulness. 

Needless to say, we're very excited to welcome Abby onto the Patterns of Perception imprint for our third release - her "Deformation" EP. 

And so, Abby Echiverri's Patterns of Perception 113 is a celebration. For this, she has prepared a special hybrid live/DJ set which both channels and expands on the energy and spirit from her release. Bold, diverse rhythms thrum within a kaleidoscopic haze. Sleek energy escalates, approaching catharsis. A cosmic radiance shifts, glancing ever upward.

On the following night after my appearance at Berghain's Saule Space in Berlin, I had the honour of playing a three and a half hour warm up set for one of my musical heroes. 
More details below, taken from the event description on Resident Advisor:

"On 13th October, Pickle hosts an electro special, headlined by a rare appearance from Drexciya and Dopplereffekt creator Gerald Donald, who will perform live as his legendary project Arpanet; his first show under the Arpanet moniker in London for over five years. He's joined by Intergalactic Gary, who prepares a special set of Golden Age electro and breaks from Detroit and the UK. Support comes from Freerotation resident and supreme digger Alex Downey.

Drexciya is a name imbued with deep meaning for electro and techno aficionados. Together with his friend James Stinson, Gerald Donald created Drexciya in the early 1990s, releasing a series of seminal electro records that haven't been matched since. To those who know, some of Gerald Donald's finest work was recorded under the pseudonym Arpanet - electro at its deepest and most strange, brimming with early sci-fi references and afrofuturist subtext. Although he regularly performs as Dopplereffekt on festival main stages and cavernous warehouses, Donald hasn't performed as Arpanet in London for half a decade - until now. On 13th October, Arpanet comes to The Pickle Factory for a rare headline show.

He's joined by a welcome return from Intergalactic Gary. The Hague's finest was last spotted in Bethnal Green tearing the roof off Pickle after Convextion in February. This time, IG prepares a special Electronix set that sees him digging deep into his electro, breaks and Detroit techno collection. Support comes from one the UK's finest electro DJs, Alex Downey. The Freerotation resident has been on our radar for a while - he's a simply sublime DJ of dance music in all styles, rhythms and textures. Yet it's Downey's electro collection that has particularly piqued our interest. His 'Drexciya Wavejumper set', recorded in the Stinson-esque surrounds of Bloc Festival's pool stage, is an essential retrospective on the genre. Alex is the perfect man to warm the floor for an evening of Detroit electro on 13th October. "

DASHA RUSH is the best example of sophistication, perfectionism and beautiful execution in the scenario of electronic music. His Master's Voice is one of those artists that is hard to associate with a specific genre in electronic music. Instead, he is recognized as an artist whose style is continuously morphing and pushing boundaries of electronic music into uncharted territories both in the studio and behind the decks. In the past few years, we've seen a constant rise of this Hannover-based artist. From his debut release on Schleifen and remarkable contribution to KANN's Banana Split release, to mind-bending Delsin debut EP and his very first LP 'Log: a Canis Majoris' on Paul Rich's KCZMRK, His Master's Voice reminds us that the electronic music universe is infinite and that one can still make music that sounds fresh and interesting. His close friendship with VRIL, with whom he often shares countless studio hours, has brought us some fantastic collaborations in the past. Two remixes on Delsin were like an introduction to the Adderall project that His Master's Voice and VRIL started just a few weeks ago with an incredible ode to 90's IDM, the track - 'Cryosleep,' which we had the pleasure of premiering. 

The mix His Master's Voice prepared for us is an intricate journey full of twists and turns through Jungle, Leftfield, Techno, IDM, and Electronica. This is one of those mixes that you'll go back to over and over again, just to hear something new that you may miss the last time you listened to it.
