Whoever Client_03 is—their official bio says "neither human nor machine"—they certainly love electro. In the interview below, they say making it is "all I do." The stubbornly anonymous project has been making waves across continents and scenes, introducing audiences used to dubstep, drum & bass and trap to the distinctive joys of electro. Through a series of self-releases dating back to 2019, Client_03 has earned a fanbase with simple graphics and wonderfully jargon-y titles—"Prosperity Stream Divider," "Interpersonal Relationship Assessment"—that more than live up to the genre pastiche with genuinely funky electro grooves. Pitched between loose and robotic, their tracks are what we call rollers: stackable, interlockable and reliable.

This RA Podcast was recorded live at last year's Bass Coast Festival, where the masked producer's set was among the most anticipated. They—or it—didn't disappoint, and here we've got 60 minutes-plus of smooth and occasionally raucous electro that eventually mutates into dubstep, jungle and beyond. There are several spinbacks, tons of Client_03 material new and old and a few select tracks from artists like Sam Binga, Nikki Nair and Fixate. It's the sound of a certain kind of future, as refracted through its past.

Framework presents the third edition of TOWER Imports, a limited mix series designed to incorporate international artists into New York's TOWER project.

This entry comes from seasoned Austrian DJ/producer Sun People (@simon-off). The mix arrives amidst delays in global sonic trade, originally intended as a compliment to TOWER 9's insulation installation at Bossa Nova Civic Club on July 2, 2024. Expect supervision through footwork, jungle, drum & bass, etc. with an instrumental orientation, celebrating the near completion of the Inside.

Simon Hafner’s two decade long stint in dance music has yielded a glorious treasure trail of club-minded innovation. Initially emerging as part of the Winterstrand trio (alongside his two brothers) in the late nineties, he then proceeded solo: first, as the dubwise broken beat leanings of Simon/off in the mid-2000s, and now Sun People. Having settled into his current alias for over a decade now, his output since its inception has been widely regarded for its inimitable takes on jungle and footwork, fascinatingly hybridised with a wide variety of styles like juke, techno, electro, minimal and dub. His deft beat programming, boundless energy and remarkable productive spontaneity has sparked a celebrated discography, with noted releases on dBridge’s Exit Records (@dbridge_exitrecords), Rua Sound (@rua_sound), Defrostatica (@defrostatica), Outlines (@outlineslabel) sub-label Guides plus an EP for Steffi’s Candy Mountain (@candymountaincandy) imprint and much more.
