The set Tsepo played during our last In Light & Night event is still fresh in our mind and this mix takes us right back to it. The driving dancefloor energy he can create is the common thread of this mix, too. Fleet-flooted rhythms with Dancehall and Amapiano influences are the beginning of an hour long body and brain massage. He smartly switches in energies by playing floating melodies, light vocals and longer streched synths that gently increase the intensity. With adventurous mixing and playful genre hopping between Bass, UKG Breaks, Chicago House and Electro, he causes you to surrender to the locked groove he creates. I'm not one for massive social media posts but sometimes certain things warrant one and this definitely does! 

My journey with The Move started over a decade ago a fresh faced 18 year old raver who saw himself as a bit of a DJ... 😂 My first experience came from the dancefloor and that's how it stayed for many years it gave me some of the best nights of my life and definitely pushed me on with my music! 

Fast forward a few years and after DJ'ing out locally on many different events an opportunity to take over the Room2 residency at The Move came about, of course being the young & hungry DJ I was saying no just wasn't an option and that was the moment I went from the dancefloor to becoming a resident. Alongside Mark & Marv we absolutely destroyed that box room in the mill on a monthly basis if you know you know kinda vibe... 😉 8 years later I'm still a resident I've seen many raving faces come and ago, I've seen the scene and music change however one thing that's always stayed the same is the vibe it's always been second to none! 

As soon as I heard about a special one off event remembering 12 years of Move classics I just had to be involved. What an honour it is to dig deep bringing back all those tunes and remembering some of the most legendary night’s experienced over the last decade in Stoke on Trent... ❤️

Easter Saturday is the date, The Sugarmaill is the venue, the tickets are below and to get you all in the mood I've dug deep to put this mix together its strictly Move Classics only... 🙌🏼 I don't think I've put a track in there past 2014 expect plenty more of these bombs on the night!!! 🔥

Sam’s set from St Mary's Chambers, Rossendale/Rowtenstall in North West, UK. This marks the 4th time Sam has been support DJ for Craig Charles Funk & Soul show on warm up DJ duties. 

All tracks are mixed and beat matched from start to finish, beginning at 100BPM and gently increasing to around 120BPM with a reset in the middle. 

The set includes a mixture of soul, funk and disco genres including originals, remixes and modern alongside some of Sam’s own edits.

Today we're featuring UK talent Shur-i-kan in the mix series, an accomplished keyboard player who cut his teeth working in various bands in London and longtime contributor to improvisational dance super group The Bays. 

Shur-i-kan has been an important figure in the development of Jimpsters' celebrated Freerange Records label - a relationship that stretches all the way back to 2001 and has left a legacy of two studio albums and a string of classic house EPs that include Living Inside, I Want It, Future Fantasy and One Night In Tokyo.

Cafe Mambo Ibiza 'Sunsets 2015' MiniMix (Compiled by Pete Gooding)

Pete Gooding has been expertly soundtracking thousands of those infamous sunsets at Cafe Mambo over the past two decades. 
His musical selections tend to follow in the old ´Balearic´spirit of anything goes, weaving between everything from forgotten ambient masterpieces, film scores, obscure 80´s Spanish pop or even opera, creating a seamless musical symphony leading up to that incredible moment when the bright pink sun finally sinks into the mediterranean sea. 

Here´s an hour or so of Pete in pre sunset mode recorded live at our opening party last month.  It perfectly captures that mood at Mambos and hopefully as you listen you can imagine the golden sun shimmering on the sea, the smiling happy faces, the warm evening breeze, the sound of waves gently lapping the shore and the clinking of mojito glasses!

Heute trommelt sich's gut durch Wald und Wiese, vielleicht auch eher und mehr durch Laub und Liane. Die drei multi cultis von @YorKultura, aus nieder ländlicher Heimat mit richtigem Händchen, spielen wie Tropfen im Regenwald wild und eklektisch in Luises liebstem Tempo den richtigen Rhythmus zur Montäglichkeit. Da könnt man meinen es käme bald noch mehr.

Decked out with hanging ferns, floor cushions, an oil lamp and visuals by Cherrystones, the East London spot was even cosier than usual, and Hunee started out playing some of his favourites field recordings and experimental records, before slowly building the dance floor with his collection of music from around the globe.

Larry Heard (born 1960) is a musician widely known for the Chicago house music he produced in the mid-1980s and continues to produce today. He was a member of the influential group Fingers, Inc. and has recorded solo under various names, most notably Mr. Fingers. His smooth production style with soulful vocals and long instrumental passages that de-emphasized percussion spearheaded the subgenre known as deep house. One of his first releases was a collaboration with singer Robert Owens, released under the group name ‘Fingers Inc.’. The song ‘Mystery of Love’ instantly became a classic hit, rising to #10 on the Billboard Dance charts. Larry Heard's musical influence can be heard in the songs of countless artists. For those who appreciate warm and passionate compositions, Larry's music is pure magic. He has been blessed with a unique gift that sends listeners into a blissful euphoric state.
