On this one, I've done a bit of a short remix to highlight the nasty harmonica solo at the end of one of my fave songs I collaborated on with the charming & talented Eclectic Collective gang. It was the first time I'd tried playing that style with the heavy echo/reverb effect, and I was surprised how it turned out.

Another from the back catalog.. recently re-recorded. Around the time this was written I had just resumed playing and writing after a 22 year layoff. It was at the tail end of a whole lot of ugly and nasty moments ... but the dust was finally settling and I needed time to collect my thoughts and heal a bit.  Mid-Life thing..? Yeah...
I remember distinctly writing this in the basement..  Early on I didn't have very good guitar skills ( At least I don't think so.. )  and this song was particularly hard for me to play and sing at the same time. I spent a long time writing it.. maybe a few months. I would sit and drink Dry Red and write songs.. I recall working on this with my song writing companion " Little Penguin ".😆  ( Cheap Australian Dry Red... )...  So that didn't help matters.
I have since, played this live thousands of times and can play it with or without dry red and eyes closed..

Eclectic Collective -- composition

This song started around the New Year holiday, when Josh was playing around with a looper beat on his bass. He came up with the bass line and structure for it before turning it over the the rest of the Eclectic Collective to work with. 
  Ken was first up, giving the beat its due as a real drummer, and making it his own, expertly, as always. JJ was up next with his dynamic, lush organ, propping up the groove and adding sonic flavor throughout. Stephen came through after JJ with his foundatoinal, gritty, groovy guitar. It was sitting there ripe for a melody at this point, so Josh heard and added a melody vaguely inspired by the Simpson's theme and added it with his electric guitar. Tez wrapped the whole thing up with the exciting "synth" part you hear in the middle with his custom Tele, which he processes through a Line 6 interface.
  Once it was in the bag, Tez did the honors of producing and mixing it for us, and he did so exactly as we wanted it.
  This is an example of a song Josh started with a groove and set loose on the rest of the band. It is also a good example of what happens when we're all moving towards the same vision. We hope you enjoy hearing this song as much as we enjoyed

Scarborough Fair is a traditional English folk song. The author is unknown. Probably the best-known version today is the adaptation by Simon & Garfunkel, which first appeared in 1966 on the album Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme.
I wrote this German text in 1994.

English translation of my text:

Look at the fields in autumn.
