Qnete’s back in the building for a third X-Kalay release and it’s an anticipated return for the prominent purveyor of prog. Four diverse but coherently related tracks with pit stops in deep house and electro territory

We open proceedings with a dose of the lysergic sound that has become his trademark since debuting on the label in 2021. Evoking ritual and ceremony, ‘Going Short‘ commences with choral pads that beckon to the altar. A slo-mo exercise in dancefloor hypnosis with trace echoes of bleep.

Where ‘Wrapped’ takes a turn toward mellow, ‘Stepperals’, like its A1 counterpart, recalibrates trance tropes into something more chugging and restrained. Another example of Qnete smudging his third eye on a tunnelling, wormhole flex.

And finally, the Leipzig native signs off with a nod to the American Midwest. Opening cerebral gates in a way that recalls classic Detroit In Effect, closing track ‘Circuit Friends’ taps into the futurist utopia imagined by Detroit electro’s pioneers.

Fixed Rhythms releases a masterpiece double LP by Texas techno young star, Decoder aka Gautham Garg. Fixed Rhythms previously released a 12” EP entitled “Boulder” under his 'Cratan' alias in 2021, and copies zipped out the door.

Decoder, is a Dallas based producer and DJ specialising in the realm of sci-fi and deep techno. His music personifies his forward thinking ideas as well as his cultural roots, making for a blend of retro-futuristic soundscapes and experimental shades of electronic music.

In early March 2021, Decoder witnessed the inception of his debut release, "The Futurist," brought to life by the Italian label Antiterra. Following this EP, a consistent stream of releases ensued, with Decoder contributing to labels such as Bomphcast, Srie Records, and his own imprint, Codec Recordings.

The same year marked the unveiling of his inaugural album, "Monolithic Activity Spectrum," released under the Spanish label Subsist. Closing out the year, Decoder presented his second album, "Dark Shape," released on Jeff Mills’ renowned Axis imprint. The momentum carried into the first half of 2022, with Decoder's "Moro Safa EP" hitting the shelves under the Amsterdam-based label Float Records. Additionally, this period saw the release of his third full-length album, "Plurality Module," on Subsist, along with a subsequent offering on Float Records titled "Kanavugal."

These releases have also garnered support from many artists including the likes of Richie Hawtin, Jeff Mills, Ben Sims, Jeroen Search, and TWR72, to name a few. Decoder's touring schedule has also seen notable moments, including shows played at notable clubs & parties such as De School, Fold, Cialo.

His eight-track album on Fixed Rhythms consists of hypnotic, bendy techno, with a C1 electro switch-up. You’re instantly transported to the depths of the cosmos within your mind on the first needle drop. An album for all moments of the deep dance, with a D2 that ends the double LP with a powerfully optimistic sonic statement.

"It's been a while Suze - you're looking more beautiful than ever" we utter, audibly nervously as the door slams open off it's hinges, nothing but blinding white light and the sonic textures of her most recent offering gradually crescendoing and filling up the room. "JEANS" she booms,  shattering the glass from our hands. "errm, are they new?" we stutter - the music now growing inhumanly loud. The light is vacuumed back through the door, the room is now silent and dully lit - a strange square shaped package is left in the middle of the room. We tear it open - "Ah, it's Jeans' new EP out on Whos Susan".

After all that drama, we put the record on and chose which track to share with you. This was X-Coast's beastly remix, which is about as gagging for 'tha cloob' as your 18 year old self, wearing your older brothers black winkle pickers draped with blue raw denim, foying of a Paco Rabanne gift set. French DJ and producer Leo Pol has unveiled his new EP ‘Warehouse 014’, out 11th September on Mella Dee’s Warehouse Music label

A four-track release, ‘Warehouse 014’ opens with ‘Priviet’, a raw, high-energy house jam that pairs pounding kick drums with sparse piano samples. Next up, ‘Xeniouski’ and ‘You Know What I Want’ see Leo Pol delve into the world of electro, before the pumping acid house of ‘A Base De Kush’ closes things out.

Carving a reputation around his analogue, 90s house sound, Leo Pol’s music has previously found its way onto the likes of Uniile, Iile and Concrete Music. He has also performed at some of the world’s best clubs, including Panorama Bar, Printworks, Shelter and DC-10.
