Cramps cover band, started in 2014. 

Has played live at Merchants Saloon, and Stork Club, Oakland, the Fireside in Alameda, and at the Knockout in San Francisco.

The Clarences were hatched in 2006 by Robert A. Medeiros in Oakland, California. He was traumatized because Mego never made a Green Lantern action figure. Then, he met Erin Shannon at a reading aboard a b-52. After that, he met Leslie Outhier at a Canadian bunny farm. Together, they are The Clarences!

The original music of San Francisco's The Insufferables has been described as a mashup of The Pixies, the Doors, and Belle and Sebastian. They present jangle and crunch guitars, and unusually articulate vocals.  

Lead singer, Keith MacNamara, is an unfrozen caveman story-teller and bartender has a distinctive voice and a fun stage personna.
Carolyn Crampton, formerly guitarist for the seminal, all-girl punk bands, The Profalactics (Colorado) and The Varve (Colorado and San Francisco), plays rhythm guitar as much like Johnny Ramone as possible, as well as some eclectic stuff. 
Gene Michal, a professional biomedical engineer, formerly played classical guitar mostly for his cat and now plays leads and jangle fills. 
Ram Fenster, who settles all the arguments, plays bass, rhythm guitar, and backup vocals. It's he, ranting, on Doorman's Lament.
The band snapped up drummer Kevin Anderson when he moved from Fresno to the bay area. He's still driving a long way to practice but gets there an hour before everyone else.

The songs:
The Insufferables are close to releasing the full length “Argument Clinic,”which features songs about love, politics and fine dining. This time, Keith added a vocal track an octave lower on “Cool Crazy”and“All the Time in the World”, Gene used his acoustic guitar skills on “F.B.I.” and “Charlie Brown”,  Carolyn played organ and used Tiny Telephone huge plate reverb on “The Thing”. One final touch was adding other voices to the end of “Octopus”, which makes it sound like a pub song and could be our favorite song of all. Songwriting is usually started by one band member and finished by all.“Edge of Control” was released in 2014 and “Fire Bad!!” was released in 2013. Both EP's are available for sale on itunes, and for streaming on all over the internet.

Live shows: at Bottom of the Hill, Milk Bar, Red Devil Lounge, Uptown Lounge, Stork Club, Neck of the Woods, Kimos, Elbo Room, Public Works, and others.

The Insufferables also has a sister band which is a tribute band for The Cramps: The Cramp-ons.

The Varve was a post-punk, art/noise/alternative all-girl band who started in Denver and Boulder Colorado from the wreckage of two earlier punk bands, the Profalactics and The Guys. The Varve started about the same time as the GoGo's and Bangles. They moved to San Francisco and added drummer Kat Apostrophe (formerly Urge, also Baby Buddha). 

The sound was a blend: punk/jazz/rock/post-punk and rockabilly. The band created "Wanda Music", tracks which were wild yet structured, jazzy instrumentals.

The band was an active member of the San Francisco bay area punk/alternative scene from 1980 to 1985 and had mini tours to LA and Colorado. They played with Romeo Void, the Contractions, Flipper, Two Tones, Ultimate Sammy, the Modettes, Brian Brain, Wilma, Red Rockers, Translator, and other bands at the Fab Mab, iBeam, on Broadway, Berkeley Square, Stone, Keystone, Palms, le Disque, Catalyst and elsewhere. They rehearsed at famed Iguana studios and lived in the Castro across from Translator.

The Varve released:
.  2 tracks on an LP "Live at Le Disque", 
.  a 3 song EP recorded at Hyde Street Studios produced by Michael Barbeau, and 
.  a 5 song cassette tape produced by Floyd Solders and released by Cow-Op productions in Denver.
The band also recorded demo tapes with Tom Mallon and others in Colorado.
The band made 2 videos (now lost?) and appeared on public TV.
