Chris Odium is a new face on the Dissident label roster, but he’s been a friend of the label (and on our musical radar) for a very long time! His deep, melodic releases on labels from Silk Music to Nuevadeep have delivered consistent inspiration and emotional moments for over a decade. His signature sound blurs lines between deep house, techno and progressive, and we’re really happy to welcome him to Dissident Music! Augmented Reality soars with classic Detroit-style pad stabs, ethereal melodies, and whispered vox, all underwritten by a captivating Reese bassline and grooving drums. Emulated Emotions continues the story; led by a mesmerizing bassline and swung percussion, atmospheric pads and moody synths carry the vibe forward and level up the energy. The wrap up of the 2020 random folder series.
This series of mixes this year, has been dedicated to my older folders & music that has been somewhat lost in the last few years, but with a few newer tracks thrown in for good measure.  We have ALL needed to go back a bit, and re-live different times, and...here's hoping this mix...and series as a whole, has brought back some good memories, along with some new favourites as of late.

Radio Show with Juan Deminicis

Since his passing I felt inspired, compelled even to honour him with a mix. For nearly 20 years he sent me running to the decks to mess around with throwing tracks together just too see if it could work. I wanted to capture that feeling one last time. 

After spending a few weeks on it, I just couldn't make it work. Then on Friday after spending a few hours tuning in to KissFM with all his friends I was able to find inspiration to finish it. 

I wanted to capture his essence without being derivative, to celebrate his love for syncopation while also reflecting his eclectic taste, to be melancholic but also fun.
