Given our demanding touring schedule, we figured a good way to release new music without having to carve out the time to record a full length LP between tours would be to track whenever we could find the time, and release the music in a series of singles. This structure also allowed us the opportunity to experiment without a focus on creating a cohesive body of work.

Next up on Klosman’s GURU Recordings, fast-rising Parisians Charles B & VCTRY join  forces for synth-driven, groove-laden, underground house bomb. Full of lush, deep bass and UK garage influenced grooves, “Universal Funk” takes a direct approach that combines a glitch techno vibe with drive of dubby Nu-garage to perfect effect.
 
The track opens with pulsating 4/4s and funky, filtered synth work that precedes the injection of raw power and energy. As that bass swells up and explodes with ferocity, we are swept away by underground grooves and metallic synths that jab with potent force. The ghetto vocals add plenty of swagger but it is the unpredictable bass that truly propels the track forward with swerve and intensity. This doesn’t so much destroy the dancefloor as it does blow it into oblivion. Killer instincts!
