Solid Steel (31st January) Eliphino is our guest in Hour 1 providing one hour of the kind of thing he might listen to at home and later on in the mix a slice of what you might expect to hear if you caught him behind the decks. Opening with the soulful Coultrain and into a trio of Dilla beats, which is timely with the numerous tribute nights at the moment. Then it's Thomas Mapfumo from Zimbabwe with the Daphni sampled 'Shumba' from 1981, before opening out into a sublime and deep selection from HNNY, Roska, Basic Soul Unit and Eliphino himself. You can probably catch him popping up at a club near you soon, or if you're Croatia bound this summer he'll be playing Soundwave, Outlook & Dimensions.

Solid Steel Radio Show 1/8/2014 Part 3 + 4 - Technimatic

Brame & Hamo are two chaps from Ireland who seem not to be able to make any mistake in their releases and online sets. Everything is just dope. Their killer release “Street Urchin EP” on Dirt Crew had to be repressed by popular demand. Brame also released on Drumpoet and Morris Audio. 
Whats so special about these guys is; they found a way of combing Hiphop and House in a way we have never heard before. They pull it of perfectly! Something this podcast will prove.  
Also good to know; they just started a new Vinyl only label Splendor & Squalour, we so happened to hear some previews and it sounds mint! 
We think their style can be described as uplifting strong Deephouse, with a flavour of HipHop and distinctive synths and stabs. 
So check out this podcast. It has some surprising factors!

Big up to these young fellas. We hope for a prospective future, we can not see it any other way!

Midnight City Podcast #006 - Brame & Hamo

With this mix, we close the first chapter of the Silent Rixdorf Podcast! It has been great months, getting to know loads of new people and listening to some great music. Just as we hoped. We are taking a little holiday break, and will be back in full effect around March 2015! Thanks to all the artists who made this possible, and to our lovely designer who supplied us with her art!
For the finishing touch, the founding father of this podcast series, Serj Nosé has put together a 2-hour-mix that reflects the sounds he enjoys playing in clubs or at home. He has never done any „Those are my favorite tracks of the year“, but this could be seen as a little collection of musical gems he has found this year, with some all-time classics he loved since the very first time he listened to them!
As this mix suggests, Serj isn't the kind of Dj that focuses on only one style! Still, as his main influences, House, Funk and Disco are pervasive, he usually gets quickly bored with repeating musical patterns. Always trying to dig out something fresh, unconventional or just plain floorkillers, he tries to keep his selections miscellaneous at all time.
As one half of the founders of the infamous Lapidar collective, and as such, one of the main organizers of the Silent Rixdorf festival 2013, Serj's mission is it to create a musical niche, that distances itself from the overwhelming, homogenous swamp that has become Berlin's Tech-House scene. An aim that has proven to be often difficult to pursue, but Serj and therefore Lapidar, have always staid true to their musical ideals, always pursuing diversity and freshness, be it by playing own sets, or hosting events with the means of Eddie C, Johannes Albert, Enzo Elia, IMYRMIND, Kickflip Mike and many more!
