Raymond Manuel ("Highlander", "MC Rekm").  He's a DJ/MC has enjoyed playing music since 1982. His love of music includes Drum And Bass MC performances for; Diesel Boy, Freaky Flow, Selectris Majekka. Tag Team Sets include; Mikey Parkey, Sean Place, Ian Somniac and many others.  Regional credits from New York City (Tunnel) to Los Angles & Toronto are just a few of the places he's performed.   Based at Syracuse Highlander loves getting down and performing with his Upstate crews.

"Starting out in hip hop I was turned onto the underground electronic music scene in the early 90's.  Immediate influences include;  DJ's Flex, Carlos, Heather Heart, Boy Wonder and my boy Scott. Not looking back but remembering the past always is watching the future evolve. Starting out to have fun but setting up a great friend and dj at the club. All the people around the world that listen to music from ambient to hard trance across the world. Brings out the best in what I truly believe. That music is the answer. I get to play all style which makes it so much better, the theme of the event the way I become more into Crowd Control Mode. The people have to like what you are playing and feel the beat to seriously dance hard. The energy that glows from a crowd let's know that I am doing it right. Mad love and respect to all the people that I have played for, and the new people in my future that I have yet to play. I love to travel and listen to all DJ's. Their style and their performance make it a wonderful sight to see them rock a flow.   Still get butterflies before I play, it feels good to have that feeling. More music to create, more music and compile, and release.

Known for his driving beat with some pounding basslines Highlander has enjoy playing the music that people enjoy moving there feet to. Working on  tying together multiple projects in order to bring you new and improved work is the goal. 

 On the flip side, like night and day is the MC side, that has made a place in his entertainment world. Sit back and get ready for a good time as he delights crowds from coasts to coasts. 

As getting into the fourth decade of music, Highlander has enjoyed playing and creating sound, now wants to go even further production. Coming into the 2025 year there several albums being worked on.  More mixes and appearances online and in person.
