The seventh episode, dedicated to the famous Viennese electro label run by DJ Glow (@gl03) "TRUST", is mixed by Lok44 (@lok44).

Celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, TRUST is not only one of the longest running electro labels out there, but also one that’s happily played by its own rules all this time. With mostly just one or two releases each year since its inception in 1998, TRUST has avoided cashing in on trends as well as mainstream attention in favor of steadily building a carefully curated catalog of sci-fi techno bass classics. Its first dozen releases comprised almost exclusively of music from its hometown of Vienna, Austria - by artists such as Microthol, Lok44, Epy, Patrick Pulsinger, and the label’s founder, DJ Glow - but TRUST’s roster has expanded greatly since the late 2000s with much sought-after releases by Clatterbox, DJ Stingray / Urban Tribe, VC-118a, Alex Cortex, Kamikaze Space Programme, Second Storey, and The Exaltics.
Most recently TRUST has been home to several EPs and an album by Austrian electro duo /DL/MS/, the TRUST XY remix series that features artists like Keith K-1 Tucker, Stenny, Ultradyne and Peder Mannerfelt, and keeps pushing unique perspectives on futuristic bass music - from Detroit electro veteran DJ Di’jital to Australian lizard squad leader Reptant. Encompassing music from all 2.5 decades of TRUST, this vinyl-only Tracklistings mix has been crafted by one of the label’s most frequent contributors, Lok44.

AI Series Mix #011 - LOWFISH

Luis M. Espinosa is the founder/owner label head of Artificial Intelligence ™ which is a clear homage to the memorable Warp series, and Zyrcadian Editions which explores the wide ranging electronic genre. The main vocation of this mix will be to pay a sincere and heartfelt tribute to the pioneers of the early 1990s, from the first scene and generation of creators, artists and producers of the Bleep sound and pioneers of Braindance and IDM from labels such as Warp Records, Rephlex, Planet Mu and Skam Records. This was originally sent to us as a 4 hour plus set and we have selected an excerpt of it with Luis' permission. It truly is a beautiful journey.

31 Years of Clone Records: Sonic Transmutations Box Set and Club Night at Tresor

The Sonic Transmutations compilation features 33 artists in total and will be released as a limited edition box set in September 2023. 
 
Announced in tandem with a club night hosted by Berlin’s Tresor on 28 May, Sonic Transmutations is an extended compilation album celebrating over three decades of Clone Records. Marking the 31 years – which is coincidentally the national Dutch telephone code – the 8x12 inch box set draws together veteran talent and emerging iconoclasts, transmitting a frequency rooted the imprint’s signature blend of essential dance music while journeying off into territories unknown. In a constant state of unfolding, morphing across phases of matter, Sonic Transmutations purveys an elemental energy that stands in testament to Clone’s enduring legacy and explorations of sounds and structures.
 
New recruit Alberta Balsam opens up the A side with ‘Anthem’, a synth-heavy medley that encapsulates her tech-savvy approach and impressive repertoire of vintage hardware. Next up, Alden Tyrell, also known under the moniker of A Visitor From Another Meaning, supplies a ride-or-die accolade to Detroit, partnering a wigged-out drum machine with eerie distortion. Frankfurt’s electro figurehead Anthony Rother follows on, landing hard with a fuzzy bassline and threateningly slick high-hats, before Dopplereffekt – the legendary duo Rudolf Klorzeiger and To-Nhan – programme a moody space jam full of roving chords and jagged harmonics. His first track since 2017, Dexter’s ‘Pumapunku’ provides a punchy, breakdance twist on 808 beat patterns and DJ Sotofett’s ‘Bachi’ is wondrously weird reimagining of electro’s funk groove. E.R.P.’s ‘Ugly Pretty June’ contrasts dreamy atmospheres with banging drive and, between these stalwart names, emerges Dim Garden, a producer redefining raw electronics, amalgamating minimal wave with noisy industrial and gothic folklore.
 
Since its inception, Clone has sought out uncompromising sonic encounters. In 1992, founder Serge put out the inaugural release under his Orx moniker, which soon led to further productions, as well as the first iterations of the record store and mail order. Forging close ties with an international community of like-minds – especially those in the burgeoning US dance renaissance – as well as the flourishing Dutch scene, took precedence. This rich heritage resonates on Sonic Transmutations. From the insistently infectious ‘Get to It’ by Detroit In Effect, a longstanding Clone mainstay, to the tripped-out melodies of Legowelt, the pioneering West Coast producer, the record pays tribute to a thriving network of DIY creativity that has transgressed epochs. 
 
Raw and rugged, Rotterdam’s own Lenson delivers a homage to underground parties in the harbour city, concocting a potent warehouse stomper, while Mr. Ho unleashes a transfixing techno-poem featuring artist and spiritual teacher Gedvile Bunikyte. The latter half of Sonic Transmutations switches into a darker, nocturnal mode, oscillating with peak-time club momentum. Built around a swing beat, Finland 's Aleksi Perälä, A.K.A ovuca, dexterously moves between light and shadow, preceded by PRZ’s new wave-flavoured ‘It’s Time’. Crescendoing with epic sibilance, Sansibar collides heavy-duty bass with psychedelic, echoing vocals on ‘Connect’ before Panorama Bar resident Steffi’s ‘50 Heads’, a stuttering rhythmic workout, closes off.

He also has an upcoming prject with Up North Records label head, Lbeeze, as well as a release on a prominent Rotterdam-based label. Flog the Bog will be in association with Advanced Electronic Music who have set up groups on Soundcloud. What is this prize we speak of?, well, producers and bands/singers/musicians will have they're tracks fully mastered and featured on the upcoming Flog the Bog music compilation to be released in April 2014 on Advanced Electronic Records as well as having the chance to perform on the Flog the Bog main stage at the upcoming festival planned for Easter 2014. Successful DJ's will have sets recorded also "live" on main stage at the festival, mastered with crowd sound included and also featured as part 1 of a mix series on the Flog the Bog compilation!. Successful artists will be commissioned to create work for the " The Flog in the Bog" compilation series as well as creating the artwork that will shape the imagery of the festival. All winners will also receive 5 free tickets for they're friends, a bottle of Champagne or Whiskey (whatever your tipple may be) as well as free passes for themselves and band members (where applicable) to roam untouched at the festival with untold goodies also lined up. 
So get recording, mixing, singing, painting and whatever it is you do best and be part of the Flog the Bog festival community.
Competition begins 30/11/13 and continues up to a month before festival planned for Easter 2014. Good luck...if ya need it!.

The label offers all experimental electronic music genres an outlet, for example IDM, Electronica, Glitch, Abstract, Ambient, Downbeat and Breaks. This is reflected in the passion of the netlabel owners as well as in the diversity of the music scene.
